Came here for a two-day respite visit to sit and relax by the water and it didn't disappoint. What a beautiful view right outside your back door! Watch the dolphins, boats, birds and sunset. Nice breakfast casserole served every morning along with regular continental items. Wine, iced tea and snacks at happy hour 5-6 pm. Very nicely done and a chance to meet other guests if you want to. Hot water and tea selections would be a nice addition for non-coffee drinkers.

Staff was very friendly, beds were comfortable. A few restaurants and a Zen garden were just steps away. The Conch House restaurant (dine in your own little tiki hut on the water) was just 3 minutes by car on the island side.

If you want to do Historic St. Augustine, let the staff know. The hop on/off Olde Town Trolley shuttle will pick you up at the hotel and take you over to their ticket office. No need to find parking.

For our purposes, this place was perfect and I hope we'll be able to return soon.

Room tip: Be sure to ask for a water view room. Some are not.

Nice location on the river and by the Lion Bridge. Thought it might be a noisy night with road traffic but we didn't hear it at all. It was so pleasant sitting outside our room watching the boat and fish traffic. You can walk to eating places on the island or across the bridge. Nice pool to refresh after hot days.
Cocktail hour and breakfast were bonuses.
Clean, and staff is friendly and helpful.

Room tip: River side chairs are available to all so not necessary to get waterfront.

Spectacular skies, endless variety of bird activity, fish jumping high, and the dolphins. Ahh the dolphins.
The cozy room, happy hour, a properly served breakfast, delightful staff and a groovy little pool makes this place my definitive go-to in St. Augs.
See you soon guys!

I visit St Augustine when I am driving to Southern Florida and want a fun overnight stay to break up the drive And the Edgewater Inn is the perfect spot to stop!
Located at the.base of the Lion’s Gate bridge, this small inn provides a sweet spot to see dolphins and watch the boats cruise by as the bridge opens. A beautiful view of the castle and tow, lit at night for a spectacular view.
We rented the upstairs room, which gave us a small private balcony and a lovely room.
The rooms are well appointed, clean, soundproof and small. There is a tiny muddy beach and a swimming pool. Breakfast at the Edgewater is included and it was fabulous. They offer two choices for the meal. I opted for the egg and crab casserole with sausage and fruit.
They also have a cocktail hour with tea and wine from 5-6.
I highly recommend the Edgewater Inn for a lovely night’s sleep in a busy, fun town.

On the outside the hotel looks like old Florida so you might hesitate to book. I took a chance. So glad we did. Rick at the front desk was very nice and let us check in early. Lovely room that was clean & smelled fresh. No carpet, yay! Beautiful view. So convenient to walk over bridge of lions into the historic district. Great breakfast!
