We loved this resort!! The location was wonderful, the beach was great and the facility was clean and friendly. The price was right too. We were here for a week and wanted to be able to relax and not have to go anywhere if we didn't want to. We liked the choice of onsite food choices, as well as having a kitchen in our room to cook if we wanted. The resort was not crowded at all. Will be back.

We just returned from a long weekend stay at the Sirata and couldn't have been happier with our experience. We have three small children, ages 2-8 and felt very comfortable as a family here. I was a little worried by some of the reviews so I called and booked with them directly and was told about a family suite which had a king bed, a room with a bunk bed, and then a pull out sofa in the living room as well as a kitchenette. This arrangement was perfect for our family. We were in building four which I found perfect as it was close to the beach and the north pool as well as the playground on the beach. We were on the fourth floor and I did not find the elevators a hassle at all but each to their own I guess. The room was very clean and seemed updated enough for our family. At my request on check in, we were given a room with a partial ocean view which also overlooked the pool, hot tub, and Harry's and my husband and I enjoyed listening to the music from Harry's on our balcony after the kids were in bed and it did not wake them up at all! Excellent artist by the way - we were impressed! Thank you Alan for putting us in the perfect room for our family! Everyone we met were very friendly and helpful. While there may not have been wireless internet for free, there was a business center that we could access for free to check in to our flight, print boarding passes, etc which I found very helpful. All around great experience and would definitely stay with them again!

Room Tip: I would book directly with the hotel over the phone and ask again on check-in for the room you feel...

This was jweek end stay, Friday/Saturday nights. There is many things to like on St. Pete beach, great location, easy to get to, fantastic beach, soft white sand, not crowded, with beautiful walks in both directions, awesome sunsets.
However the hotel needs some work. It starts at check in where they seem to be well staffed, but they are not in any particular hurry to get you checked in.
We received a room overlooking the courtyard, 3rd floor, building 2. The rooms are older and had some recent upgrades, good beds, flat panel tv, the fridge ran well. There is no safe, just an old one without a key. The A/C is very load and even though is was only in the low 80s, never shut off when set at 74 degrees. The bathrooms are very outdated, the tile and tub were dirty, the grout is nasty, the shower had black and green mold. Not very clean. The toilet paper and tissues were so bad, we had to supply our own, very thin and scratchy. We would also highly recommend picking a different building, because the hotel staff, and it seems like the entire hotel staff uses this elevator constantly, it is close to laundry and maintenance. After 3 or 4 attempts, we gave up and used the stairs to go up and down, each time we found the elevator was occupied or detained by the staff and generally not available.
The resort offers two outdoor bars, one at each end, both have entertainment If you do not like the steel drummer at one bar, it is very easy to move to the other and hear someone playing Jimmy Buffett. The hotel has two small pools one by each bar, but with such a beautiful beach, they are not overly crowded during the day. In the evening, we particularly liked sitting by the gas fireplace pit at Harry' bar. Overall we enjoyed the entertainment and the atmosphere at both Harry's Bar and Rum Runners.
We ate several meals at the resort and the food was very good, plentiful and not too expensive for a resort.
We also enjoyed the staff, in the restaurants, bars, and around the grounds, everyone is very friendly and will quickly make you feel at home.
Bottom line, for $160 - $200 per day, no free internet or parking, you can do better, this hotel has not been well maintained, the rooms are small and not very clean. We found a cockroach in our fridge, they are also noisy, you can hear parties late into the night. We would not recommend staying here.

Room Tip: Do not chose a room in building 2!

There were obviously many aspects of our resort that you thoroughly enjoyed; great staff, beautiful location, good beds, great food, good entertainment of which we are very pleased. We do take your comments very seriously about the bathroom and will ensure this is taken care of. We are continually updating our resort and have new bedding arriving next month and new tables, desks and drawers arriving soon. Building 2, which you mention has access to 6 different elevators; it connects with building 1 and building 3 from the 2nd and 3rd floor. The resort has 24 hour security who immediately responds to any noise complaints, guests have been evicted from our resort due to their disturbance to other guests. We sincerely hope that the pros outweighed the cons and you will once again give us the opportunity to be your host.

Pros: Very friendly staff, good value, beautiful views, beautiful beach, good entertainment at Harry's Bar, plenty of parking, good recreation options, rooms were very quiet, able to check in early and received and upgraded room.

Cons: Very dated room, tub faucet leaked and bathroom fan sounded like a jet engine, stove burners were so warped I had to prop up the pan handles, pricey restaurants, litter by the cabanas. Housekeepers were very friendly, but need some training. We found dirty dishes in the cupboard, and beds which were made up very hastily.

Booked through a travel agent, and received free parking, cabana, wifi, and boat trip on the Dolphin Racer.

Although there were some cons, all in all we would return to this resort. Customer service means a LOT.

I stayed here a week in Feb. with my daughter and my 2 grand-kids, ages 2 and 7. We had a lot of fun swimming in the 'family' pool. There are other pools for non-family types. We all loved the hot tub, especially because it was cool and cloudy a lot of the time we were in Florida. The play areas are also very nice, and located between the pools and the beach. There is also a special building that houses iguanas, and the kids loved watching them eat their salads. The beach is clean and the water a bit chilly, but we did see some swimmers. The family pool is heated so we all spent a lot of time swimming. The room was adequate, and we were grateful to have a stove, fridge and microwave to prepare some meals in the room. The staff was friendly, the room was clean. The Sirata is close to a lot of restaurants and stores. We had a good time!

Room Tip: Our room was on the first floor, which was easier for the kids to come and go...no stairs or elevato...

Betsy, thank you for your review. We have a playground directly on the beach, a games area with corn toss and wall hookey, 2 games rooms, 3 heated pools and volleyball, making our resort a great resort for families.
Our Gulf Coast Iguana Sanctuary (located by Rum Runners) rescues and provides habitat for abandoned Iguanas in Pinellas County. The sanctuary includes educational components on green iguanas in the State of Florida and the responsibility of raising exotic reptiles. Iguanas are a non-native species in Florida, and they cannot survive the winter temperatures outside. The sanctuary does tend to capture an audience.
We are glad you had a good time with us and hope to see you again soon.

This is by far one of the nicest beaches in FL, and we have been to alot of the beaches down there (from NH). Not crowded with the younger drinking crowd like Siesta Key. Good family or couples beach. The sunsets are awesome, very relaxing place to stay. Going back for our second time in a few months. Has 2 nice outsde bars and pools so you can stay at the resort without having to go out every night. There are snorkeling/site seeing excursions to take which are pretty cool. Bubba Gumps is a restaurant in the area that is great. It is on the gulf of mexico and much cheaper to vacation here than mexico, and the beach again is great. White sand, blue waters, VERY clean. The rooms are clean and have nice kithcen options with ful fridge, stove and microwave. Definitely would recommend if you like beach vacations. June is HOT!

Room Tip: Get a 2 queen bed room with full kitchen or a king suite on an upper level. Theses are the best loc...

Thank you for your review Joe, you're right St Pete Beach really is one of the best in Florida. Rum Runners Beach Bar and Grill is located directly on the beach; as is Harry's Beach Bar and Grill; we also have a third pool located at the north end of the property. The rooms you recommend are in building 4, our traditional suites and our beachview king suites, be sure to request this building if that is where you prefer to be.
We look forward to seeing you in a couple of months.

Spent a week here in February 2012 in a Gulf View 1 bedroom suite. Superb views. 2 large queen beds in the sleeping area, a sofa, table, 3 dining chairs, sink, microwave and coffee machine in the sitting area, separated from the sleeping area by the bathroom and vanity area. Staff were, on the whole, helpful and friendly but the housekeeping really let the hotel down. Only cursory attention given to daily cleaning, so by the end of the week scum had begun to form in the bath and the sink area felt gritty and dust was collecting in the corners.
We had a meal in the Compass Grille but there was nothing special to say about this apart from the indifferent service from the servers.
We will stay in St Pete's Beach again but will probably choose a different hotel next time.
