Stayed for 3 nights and had a great vacation. Our room was first floor, facing the bay with a private balcony (no swimming in bay). My wife used the balcony to to lay out in the morning, and to dry our suits and towels. 10 feet away was a big dock on the bay where we could sit at night and have a few beers while watching for jumping fish (never got to see the manatee or the dolphins). We never spent much time there during the day, as it was way too hot and the pool and the beach are located down the street and across at sister property Plaza Beach. It is a little bit further than "across the street" as advertised, but we didnt' need to keep returning to the room anyways, so no big deal. Friends came to our beach and just had to give their name and our room # to desk to use the parking lot.

Check-in was fine, friendly, as was our maid service. We slept in one morning and she just came back later on in the afternoon while we were gone. Check-out...just left key on table.

Room was very clean, comfortable king bed, plenty of channels, efficiency was small but nice, full fridge, small but adequate bath room, nice shower. A Walgreens is two doors away, and 24hr 7/11 about a mile. Newspaper machines out on street and coke machine in the parking lot were nice.

There are a couple of restaurants and bars within walking distance (for us anyways, we don't mind a bit of a walk after a few drinks!) Bennigans, Annie Moore Irish Pub, Harp and Thistle, Jimmy B's beachfront, and Bahama Mama's beachfront. We were about a 20 minute ride to Tropicana Field, and about 50 minutes to Tampa Airport. Beaches were great, extremely hot ( end of July), but still great.

We would stay here again, but probaly during a different month than July. We were chasing a few Red Sox games and that was our main priority. All in all, a fine property in a fine area.

We live in Orlando and we visit the St. Petersburg area a lot, we love everything about the area but this place is the WORST. My family was here visiting from out of state and they were beyond themselves about the place and the unfriendly people at the front desk. For the ones that are planning to bring their boat, please DON"T, first of all the ramp was full of sea weed, when we pull out the boat the sea weed was all over the boat. We ask the guy at the front desk for a place nearby (because they charge you a fee but they don't provide any resources) to clean the boat and there answer was "I don't know". We had to ask for pillows and blankets and we had to go to the other property and get it. Because they couldn't deliver it at that moment. There is no ice machine, so you are going to have to walk to the "Sister Property" which is not across like they advertise on their web site....

Please save yourselves some headaches.

If you need a place to really put your feet up, this is the place! St. Pete's Beach is the nicest town on Gulf Blvd. in Florida (From here to Clearwater!), and this resort is on the Bay side of the road, so if you can't get an ocean view room, stay here and hang out on their bayside deck, feed the very-close-up cranes and pelicans, and watch the dolphins and manatees swim by!! We had a blast for a week, and it was a great room to come back to after a busy day. Absolutely clean, continuous supply of towels and toilet paper, full kitchen, and great service; we got a 25% discount through them to Seaworld. Stop in their Internet Cafe at the sister resort; nice to check email. The owner made me a pot of coffee, just because I asked him where I could get a cup. Walgreen's is a jump away, for those extra things you need, and a great pizza restaurant is right next door! Stay here and really enjoy St. Pete's Beach!!!

We spent 4 days at the Bayview Plaza and loved every minute.
We usually stay at the sister hotel the Plaza Beach but were unable to get a room for the amount of days we required, I suggest that you book as early as possible.
This is our 4th year and the other 3 have been spent at the Plaza Beach, we do prefer it there as that is where most of the facility are pool, beach, internet access, coffee, shuffle boards, sunset etc but the Bayveiw did have is own appeal.
The rooms are clean and the kitchen a good size with a large fridge freezer there is a quite bay which several of the rooms overlook and if your luck you may see the manatee or dolphins one thing worth getting up early for is to watch the sun rise.
Robert the owner and his family are friendly and will do anything they can to make your stay comfortable.
Publix,s super market is only a 2 minute walk and if your on a budget shop at Kash and Karry a few minutes drive at the far end of Gulf Blvd.
Lastly if you love dolphins try the sea thriller I can't recomend it enough

My husband and I just returned from a week at the Bayview Plaza. I made the reservation based on Trip Advisor reviews. Every positive thing I read was true and more. Our room was spotless and beautifully situated on the bay. Never a vacation photographer I went with no camera equipment but went to Walgreen's (walking distance) to buy a camera to take pictures of this wonderful little resort on the bay. Our room was not overly large but had a nice king size bed with a great mattress and wonderful bedding. The small fully equipped kitchen area of the room was new and also spotlessly clean. My favorite feature was the sliding glass door out to our private patio with the bay just a few feet away. I thought I'd spend a lot of time at the sister resort, Plaza Beach on the gulf side, but It was so pretty on the bay side that I enjoyed every day on the patio enjoying the peace and quiet.
We look forward to returning to the Bayview Plaza.
