We went here with our family cousins grandparents and it was a wonderful experience the price is just right for a large family to get a couple rooms and we’ve been coming here for over 20 years we enjoyed the restaurants as they have friendly staff and we enjoy enjoyed the hotel rooms as they are nice and clean and right on the beach they have a nice pool but is perfect for our small children and everybody was very kind to us we will go again

Upon arrival you could tell that cleanliness was not a priority. Our first room was on the first floor in a corner that looked into a concrete wall that had trash laying around everywhere. When we opened the door we were greeted with a horrible musty smell and to cockroaches crawling frantically across the carpet. The gave us a new room. This one was a little better but was just as musty. I had to run across the street and get room spray to even tolerate the smell. The room had only been spot cleaned there were stains on the tile. The carpet was torn up in a place and the walls all had dirty spots on them. The AC had mold on the vents and barely worked. We asked for a room where we could at least open a window to tolerate the mustiness and they told us that we would have to pay extra. The hotel was not even close to being at capacity and they still would not accommodate us. We did not even use the facilities...it was all just so run down. We spent our time at the Tradewinds just down the beach. My advice...spend the extra $100 and stay anywhere but here.

At first I was indifferent...the room is small with a parking lot view...but when you go by the pool you enter heaven...just a quick walk across the sand your in the water of the gulf..I wasn’t real happy with the front desk manager but the actual hotel manager was amazing and very professional about an issue we had

My boyfriend and I stayed there. The staff was rude from
The very beginning. We have been traveling from coast to coast this week and we were in several hotels, this one was by far the worst. The rooms smelled awful. Then they charged us several Different fees throughout our stay with no explanation. When we asked what the fees were they just said “ it should all go back on our card” online we booked at $65.00 per night we ended up paying about $100.00. There was a sign in the kitchenette that said silverware is provided as a “courtesy” however none was provided and when we asked we were looked at like we were dumb and was told that “ we don’t give that out” very disappointed. Will not go
Back.

After a late flight into the Tampa area , I drove to St Pete Beach at about 1 AM. I had booked the hotel on a third party website like this .
The first gentleman who showed up att the front desk - 5 minutes after me waiting around admitted he could not find the the reservation . He left to the back room and 10 minutes later a lady showed up- who seemed to wish not be bother her , Finally after 25 to 35 minutes they ran my credit card and assigned me a room .
At that point the at nearly 2 am the lady tells me I need to have my license plate number or my car will be towed, I informed her It was a rental , A White Volvo S90 _ and noticing that there were approx ONLY 20 cars in the entire parking lot I assumed that would suffice . But than the story gets even crazier an irate clerk claiming to be security shows up dressed more like a janitor and says if I dont get the plate number he will call the Sheriffs office and have me removed from the property . He also says the lady said I was not talking nice to her ,,I told him to calm down and all I said is that it was 2 am in the morning , I dont see why you would be towing cars in the parking lot , But even still I would get the plate number , Sure enough at 1:45 am in a nearly empty hotel ( Red Tide epidemic on the beach ) I return with the plate number but by now the janitor or security guard named Tony worked himself into such a frenzy had already called the police . I said I would be glad to leave as I felt threatened and uncomfortable with the janitor being so irate - I just wanted a refund. They said they couldn't since it was booked via a third party . I could hear the janitor tony talking to the police station in the background , Mind you this is at St Pete Beach at 2 am where the town is at 20% capacity due to Red Tide on the beach . So I took my bags and packed them into the car . Sure enough two patrol SUV's show up . I walk over to one of the officer and explained to him what happened ,while the other officer spoke to the janitor. The officer explained this happens quite frequently at the Dolphin Resort and its best I just leave the hotel check into another hotel and file a complaint with management . The officer said Tony would have to come over to me and " ask me to leave " . I told the officers I dont want him to tlak to me and Iwas clearly leaving on my own .. But they said this is what procedure is , So Wild Eyed Tony walks over to me ask k me to leave the property .
This may be the weirdest hotel in Florida .If You want to avoid nasty staff members who may randomly call the police on you I would pick another hotel .. Or at-least make sure you have your car license plate number before you enter the chamber of doom . The hotel management needs to seriously reevaluate who they have running the hotel after hours.
