Our stay here was truly perfect. We got there an hour before check-in and they allowed us to check-in without any problem. The inn was built in the 1930s and the owners have kept the look and feel of that era. The room was spotless. The entire bathroom was brand new, but they kept the look very traditional. The wood floor seemed original and creaked, but it was super clean. I usually pack flip flops to walk in the hotels I stay in due to dirty rugs, but here I walked around the room barefoot. Wifi was strong and easy to access. The continental breakfast was very satisfying: different pastries, bread, hard boiled eggs, cereals, yogurt, coffee, tea, and juice. Considering it's an old structure, I didn't hear any sounds from other rooms or people in the hallway. The inn is downtown and in a central location, so we walked everywhere. I can't say enough about the owners Brian and Stephanie. They were super friendly and helpful. Brian gave us information on the best routes to the attractions. He was so energetic and happy. He also gave us info on some attractions not listed in brochures, like Jack Kerouac's home and hangout pub. We truly loved this place. It is our number one choice for future trips.

Chose this location as it was so close to Central Ave and Tropicana Field. Nicely appointed B n B, quaint older building that's keeping the charm and character with the old woodwork and original tile on the floor of our bathroom. The continental breakfast was welcomed and there's an evening social hour in the front parlor with a complementary glass of wine or beer. Although the inns' rooms/building is non smoking, the covered seating area with an ashtray out front, was very appreciated.

We stayed here for an overnight trip to Tropicana Field to see the Rays. The hotel is walking distance to the stadium, with lots of bars and restaurants along the way to break up the walk. The owners were incredibly friendly upon arrival, and the room was very quaint. We will definitely stay here again!

We have stayed with Stephanie & Brian 8 years now. The first year we stayed there, Brain knew I liked raccoons. We joked about a picture they had, of a raccoon and I told Brain that if it was missing when we left he would know what happened to it. The next year they redecorated and Brain took that picture and put it away for me. Is that customer service or what?! We come down every year about the same time & have never had a problem. They have made us feel like family the first time we visited & that's the reason we keep coming back. It's one of the few places that I feel safe enough to leave things in our room knowing that everything will be safe & sound. The Happy Hour is always fun to do even though my husband and I don't drink. Brain & my husband always have a great time talking sports. Stephanie, Brian and Bill are great! They give the best advice on where to eat and places to visit. You can't ask for more than that!! Absolutely one of the best place to stay while in St, Petersburg!!

Awe! Thanks so much for your wonderful review! It's always great to have you guys stay with us. I definitely enjoyed our chat the other evening, when I was working late. You and I are kindred spirits (or would "tortured souls" be more fitting, lol) with husbands so much alike.

We very much look forward to seeing you all again next year!

All the best to you both!

I stayed here for three nights. The hotel is located in a pretty much central location no further than 15 minutes walk from anywhere you might want to go to in the downtown and waterfront areas. The area felt very safe if a little empty of shops, bars and restaurants in the immediate vicinity.

The hotel is very friendly and this brings me straight to the hotel's biggest asset; it's staff and in particular the owners Brian and Stephanie. It's hard to describe this properly but I will just say that you couldn't wish to meet a more professional or friendly pair of hoteliers anywhere. They were pretty much perfect, being both engaging and helpful, whilst not at all overbearing or 'in your face'. Also the other staff we came in to contact with: Rose who took care of our room and the assistant manager (Dwayne?) were absolutely charming at all times. Seriously, you won't find better staff anywhere. Brian in particular was a fabulous host.

Breakfast was pretty standard US style continental, but everything was fresh and plentiful and nothing was left empty for more than a couple of minutes. The hard boiled eggs were a real favourite of mine. Only one point to add; sorry Brian but Stephanie's coffee was better than yours!

The lobby area was another great asset. Many smaller hotels attempt to create an intimate vibe for guests but the Inn on 3rd nails it. The lobby is comfortable, with lots of vintage wood furniture and lovely comfy seats. But what makes it special is the nightly 'social', where you can enjoy a cold beer or a glass of wine as well as some nibbles either with other guests or on your own. Even if you didn't really want to mix the atmosphere it creates is very pleasant indeed. Also additional drinks are available at very reasonable prices from the small bar available in the evening. If they don't have the beer you want then just shout and there are more readily available from behind the scenes, all chilled and ready for consumption.

I was staying with a friend and our twin bedroom was fine if perhaps slightly tired in the decor area. It was small but perfectly comfortable. The en suite bathroom was all you'd expect and was spotlessly clean. The room had a small fridge which was useful and the TV, which was a little small by US hotel standards, had every channel you could think of.

When rooms weren't occupied doors were kept open and you could see that each was different yet equally charming.

All in all very good indeed. Highly recommended.

In summary:

+ Reasonably priced rooms, if not cheap
+ Clean and comfortable bedrooms
+ Great staff in all departments
+ Warm and friendly atmosphere
+ Enjoyable if basic breakfast

- Nothing worth mentioning

Key question: Would I stay here again?

Yes - definitely. Small hotels don't get any better than this.
