Owner description: This park provide unique opportunities for visitors to enjoy natural Florida beaches. They are contiguous sections of a 100-acre property that interacts with four bodies of water; the Gulf of Mexico, Big Pass, Sarasota Bay and Brushy Bayou. Because of their convergence, currents run swift in some areas of the shoreline.

What a great thing to do! So nice and easy to kayak at your own speed thru the Mangroves.
Very pleasant and memorable.

An escape from the crowds and hustle in the area, a lovely park to take a nature walk, dip your toes in the water, sit on a bench, breath. There are 2 lots, the northern lots has a place to rent kayaks to explore the mangroves.

This is approachable, uncrowded and has good sand beaches great for walks and shell searches. And free parking. Just way more relaxing than anything on Sanibel. Highly recommended.

The mangrove tunnels are very different and fun to navigate. Took a 2 person kayak through without difficulty. Two comments: very crowded on a Saturday morning. If I go back it will definitely be on a non-weekend day. The tunnels are not well marked. We missed one and had to backtrack. Mainly our fault for not looking at the posted map before heading out. Overall a unique kayaking experience.

We are staying on Lido Key about 10 minutes from Ted Sperling park. This is our second year in this location, but we've had more opportunity this time around to visit the park. It offers an amazing contrast to the rest of Lido Key. We can't get over the fact that we can walk along a high rise condo lined street that ends up in a park that provides a quiet beach, secluded trails, an enclosed lake, and the opportunity to kayak through mangrove tunnels. Well worth several visits.
