I don't gamble, but seeing these beautiful creatures was so fun. We went on a Wednesday and admission was free! Exciting to watch even if you don't bet.

It is amazing this track is still in existence with the advent of so many gambling establishments and off track betting in the state of Florida; dog racing is all but gone and horse tracks are on the decline, Gulf Stream is still hanging in there. The facilty is well kept, has plenty of parking and offers a quality horse track experience. The racing card offers quality horses for most races. Having grown up in south Florida during horse racing golden age with 3 tracks along with sulkies nearby I was plesantly suprised with Tampa Bay Downs. Go see now before this track and others are in the history books. Open seven days a week and they offer special and corporate events.

Fun way to spend an afternoon watching the horses, having a few drinks and collecting your winnings!! Upstairs poker room that has been enjoyed several evenings. Food is good, service is inconsistent unless you are a "known regular" in my opinion. Nice covered bandstand for watching the races and plenty of indoor areas for watching as well.

First, I'm not a gambler but they seemed to have that covered pretty well along with the ability to bet on races from other tracks.

What I liked about Tampa Downs was that it was easy to get in and out of, admission was $3, food and beverages were good and reasonably priced, and you could easily get right down to the rail and feel the power of the thoroughbreds racing by you. A fun, intimate park that is family friendly.

Fun for young & old. Stay as much or as little as you want. Friendly family crowd. Find a Groupon for extra deals
