We had over 20 rooms blocked for a wedding on March 10, 2012. We were all suppose to be close to each other, but ended up being on 4 different floors. Renovation noise was so loud below the suite where the makeup and hair were being done, we couldn't hear music or TV. Had to call housekeeping to come empty trash and they never came back to check on trash or to offer clean towels. Elderly guests had problems with room key, temperature in some of the rooms could not be adjusted and were very warm while dressing.

The views of Tampa Bay are to die for day or night. Sunset is spectacular as the sun sets over the Bay. The staff is extremely attentive and helpful in every way. The physical space is a little old but they are going through a renovation now.

I recently had occasion to travel to Tampa for my birthday. This hotel far exceeded my expectations. From the moment we arrived-the Bellman, Valet, Front Desk and Concierge went above and beyond to make sure our stay was a memorable experience. The Casitas are large and lovely and they feel very private. This hotel is under renovation, but we heard nothing of it. I can't say enough about them! We will be back!

We recently stayed here for a weekend with our teenagers. The hotel is very close to the airport and easy to find, but you will need a GPS or very good mapquest directions to navigate the Tampa area. The valet was too overwhelmed to take our car, but the garage is right there and free, so I didn't mind saving the $14/night fee and parking myself. The check-in line was a bit long and once we got to the front desk, they handed us 2 xerox sheets stating that one of the pools would be closed for an event the next afternoon and evening, and that construction would be going on from 10 am - 5 pm over the weekend. They offered us a glass of champagne and sodas, but we declined and headed to our rooms. Once off the elevators, we saw another sign mentioning that all door locks on our floor were to be changed and that if we couldn't get in, we should return to the front desk for new keys. I was very concerned with how the weekend was going to go at this point.
Our rooms had yet to be renovated, but they were spacious, clean and provided a nice view of the bay. Our room rate included breakfast which was very extensive buffet served in the lobby restaurant. We ate out for dinner at Berns the first night and lunch at The Columbia the next day. The concierge is very helpful with directions and recommendations. The highway construction around the airport has not been integrated into most GPS systems, so you can't always rely on them taking you on the most direct route. I would stay here again but ask some very pointed questions about when and where the construction is taking place. It is not a hammer/nail renovation - full-blown jack hammers is more accurate. We weren't in the hotel much during the day so it didn't really affect us.

Room Tip: Ask for bay view. Make sure to avoid construction. See if you can get them to provide complimentar...

What a fabulous hotel to stay at!! My husband and I are frequent travelers and could not say enough about this hotel and the staff. The 1 bedroom suite we stayed in was very large and quite comfortable even though it had not yet been renovated. I can't wait to see it when the renovations are complete. I would not have even known that room renovations were being conducted because there was no noise what so ever. The staff in this hotel are amazing people. They could not have been nicer and more helpful. Other hotels should be trained by this hotel's staff. I want to say thank you to the manager.

We spent a night here after our cruise with some Gold Passport points (amazing loyalty program).

They're in the middle of renovations right now, but you don't have to worry about being in an "old" room because they automatically look for renovated rooms. Ask for the Seaview rooms. They're at no extra cost but are totally worth the request. We actually got an older room but it had a city and sea view with a large corner window that made it worth it.

We stayed in the Grand Club rooms and they were very spacious with really nice bathrooms and free products. As a Platinum passport holder, we were able to get free wifi.

The only thing we didn't love happened the next morning when we went down for what we thought was free breakfast in Petey Browns. We just walked up and helped ourselves to the spread, only to find out it cost $20/person. I know prices aren't usually advertised in nice hotels like this, but it would have been nice to know that we needed to pay at all. Thanks to our Gold passport, we were reimbursed.

It's very close to the airport and fairly easy to get to. One thing I LOVED was that we could get driving instructions to popular places such as the Florida Aquarium and even Disney World at the Concierge desk. I had printed out some Google Maps instructions but they were very unhelpful.

Loved the service and would definitely return

Room Tip: Request a Seaview room for a great view.

We're delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay with us and appreciate your comment regarding our Concierge as we strive to provide excellent customer service in all areas. We are sorry to learn about the misunderstanding at Petey Brown's. Your feedback has been shared with our restaurant team to better communicate the price for breakfast. We appreciate your continued loyalty to Hyatt, being a Platinum member, and would be very glad to welcome you back.
