Recently stayed at this property for one night during a trip to Key West/Key Largo (Room 4306). Our experience within the room was not good. There were many basic maintenance-type problems with our room, one of which was brought up to the front desk and was never addressed. See attached photos. As a result, I am rating our stay as "Poor." However, I will say that the pool and beach area were nice. View from the room was pretty.

We checked in at 4 PM. The check-in desk had only one staff member working (younger woman), and there were about 4 or 5 guests there waiting for assistance. On top of it all, the staff member was having to field several phone calls by herself. Common sense would be to have at least 2 people at the front desk, especially during the busy 4 PM check-in time. The girl was professional and kind despite all the craziness.

Upon entering our room, we noticed that the master suite bathroom shower did not have a shower curtain. There was a rod, but no curtain. We immediately phoned the front desk and told the woman who answered the phone. She said that someone would bring a shower curtain to our room. We waited almost 2 hours - no one came. Had to shower in the other bathroom. Went to dinner, came back - still no curtain. Upon check-out the following day, we still had no shower curtain.

Other problems with the room:

No hot water in the master bath sink. It's not that the water never got hot - when you turned on the hot water, literally nothing came out of the faucet. Additionally, the sink drain in the other bathroom was broken. We initially thought the drain was clogged, but the plunger ended up being broken. We had to toggle back and forth between 2 bathrooms to get anything accomplished, which was an inconvenience.

The refrigerator had quite a bit of black mold growing along the exterior/interior door seal. Disgusting.

Patio door vertical blinds in both the living room and master suite had broken/missing slats so there was no privacy at night.

Master suite ceiling fan had 2 of 4 lights burned out.

The main entry door into the room was not a typical secure hotel door (forgot to get a photo of this). It was an old fashioned louvered window door with cheap plexiglass screwed over top, I guess for "safety." A child could have kicked through it.

We didn't bother complaining to the front desk about the other issues because based on their response to the shower curtain, what was the point? The problems in the room were all basic maintenance items that should have been noticed by the staff if they bothered to take the time to ascertain the condition of the room each time someone checks out. Isn't there a checklist for the cleaning staff to go through? All items needing addressed in that room are nothing major and could be fixed in a couple of hours.

When I pay almost $300 (nightly rate was $268 plus taxes/fees) for a room, I expect all basic amenities to be included, in working order, and free of mold. We won't stay here again. It's a shame though; it could be a great place.

We rented a two bedroom condo for a night and were able to check in pretty early in the day on Super Bowl Sunday. We got food and the unit had a nice flat screen to watch the game. A buddy and I went kayaking, and we also hung out in the afternoon by the pool. A nice time. Unfortunately, the room rate was about $100 more a night than we were led to believe, but that was our friend's fault and not the resort's. $300 for one night was a budget killer!

We have stayed at ocean pointe many times and have never been disappointed. It is really great for kids, as there is a great playground, an outstanding pool and a good beach. We really didn't have to leave the premises, which is really nice. The condos are all two bedroom and clean, nice and quiet. The ONLY negative I can come up with is the bar- the drinks are expensive and watered down to nothing.

Wonderful spot for a quiet vacation. Our updated unit was rented from an owner found on VRBO and was as the photos showed. Plenty of room for 4 adults. The master bedroom is large and second was adequate. Both baths are lovely. There are two tiny balconies sitting only 2. You will need a car to shop or eat out. There are plenty of amazing restaurants in this key and a short distance drive to Key Largo. The pool at Ocean Pointe is large, there is also a small sandy beach. Kayaks are available for rental. There is a bar with the best staff ever in Dee. Light meals and snacks are available. I hope one day to return as we all really enjoyed our stay.

This is a nice resort, close to the water. Our unit was the farthest from the water and we could still walk there in less then 10 minutes. The pool area is very nice and tennis courts are an added bonus. It would be nice though if they supplied more settings for the kitchen, stuff to actually cook on, as well as some spices for cooking. It is kinda hard to cook for 5 when you have nothing for the oven and only a couple pots and pans. All in all though it was clean and staff was nice. We would stay again but come a little more prepared!
