Cherry Tree Cottage
Ranked #1 of 1 Portglenone B&B and Inns

We recently stayed in this B&B whilst the bedroom was clean and the bed comfortable it left a bit to be desired in many areas! The shower door could have done with a wash. Breakfast was an experience orange juice tasted like diluted orange; the toast was served with no plate to butter it on and the marmalade came complete with blue mould! The cooked breakfast was quite good however it was served by the owner in his bare feet and jogging bottoms which did not do much for our appetites first thing in the morning! Altogether this was a surreal experience.

Room Tip: Find a different B&B if you can!

The setting and size of house suggests a really good b & b just outside the quaint town of Portglenone. However the lack of detail and care leaves a different impression. The bedroom furniture is actually fine but no bulb in the bedside light or even a replacement would work. The bathroom window sill had a dead (not sure how long) spider and lacked total cleanliness. We had to ask for the heating to be put on. Breakfast was very poor - everything seemed "value range." We had had asked for poached and fried eggs but only got poached, which were so over-cooked that they could take down an Apache helicopter. Very little variety was offered and minimum effort put in. We never felt the welcome you get in a really good B & B - such as Kenmar in Ballymoney, was like a different planet.
