yet they make an open faced chili dog served on a plate that has to be eaten with a fork that might be the best i have ever tasted. its nothing too pretentious. not by a long shot. it just simple chili made with beans onions and i presume chili-o mix with a lot of hamburger that is slow cooked for a right good while until comes together. the weenies are nothing fabulous. sure they are good quality but i don't believe they come form new york city if you catch my drift. the buns re local. by that i mean holism or sunbeam or some other right off the shelf manufacturer. there are no sesame seeds, no poppy seeds
, they are split on the side the way God intended them to be. the mustard is probably frenchs unless some other brand was on sale. i reckon the staff is what really makes this place so special. they look after their customers, keep the joint clean in between lunch hour rushes, and smile a lot. make you feel good about being there kind of attitude that washes over the entire place. chili dogs are not their only item. they are not even themes popular. they make a right fair burger, a delicious turkey club and this time of year especially make a bodacious b l t. grouper sandwich is more than any mere ammeter can handle so stay away from that unless you are real hungry. they make a devine cold plate of tuna salad, potato sale, slaw chips and pickles. h the pickles. they are icy cold here. kind of cold that will rattle your teeth yet still deliver that satisfying crunch ringing with vinegar snappy like. its fun to eat here. food is pretty good too.

Nice old style counter eating, some tables too. Lots of Sandwich selections, hot dogs, and a few soups and salads. Not modernized, but food is good and prices are about average. Drink refills are self service.

Hard to find a locally owned pharmacy; much less one with a lunch counter that serves both breakfast and lunch! I've eaten here several times over the past ten years and always enjoyed both the food, reasonable prices with generous portions, and friendly service. The ambience is what one would expect in a pharmacy, but remember to check out the framed photos and memorabilia on the back walls. Definitely worth a visit.

they have the quintessential chili dog here. it comes in two sizes. one you can pick up the other requires that you eat it with a knife and fork on a plate. they are both good. no i take that back. they are both spectacular. fresh bun, firm weenie that snaps once bitten into, and a ladle full of chili or in the case of the larger model, two, fresh cold visalia onions on top. oyster crackers upon request. if you eat two of the open faced take up most of the plate chili dogs you are sure to need more that on napkin. you won't hear much conversation around a table of folks eating chili dogs. but one they have polished off their chili mustaches all will be in agreement on one thing. that sure was a mighty fine chili dog. don't tell everybody you know about this small hole in the wall drug store launch counter as i hate to have to wait in line.

two things are far superior to any found near by. the open faced chili dog fairy swimming in chili topped with fresh visalia onions ranks up there with any you will even bite into. the turkey club is a wonderfully crafter dagwoodesque sandwich lioek momma used to make. tasted bread, cold pickles, nice grade and quantity of deli turkey, cheese, fresh tomato and lettuce served with chips would have saved the folks a lot of money on kitchen furniture as mom would have met you here for one of theirs. service is quietly attentive and smilingly warm and sincere. they are glad you are here, and you are more than glad to enjoy their good food. grouper sandwich is very good also as is a cold plate that will make you want to play bridge after linch. sliced ham potato salad, mellow, cold pickle spear, scoop of tuna salad. 4 no trump!
