It’s all fair and good buying wines in a store and either someone has recommended some or you’ve seen some on TV but you can’t beat doing a wine tasting with people who’ll spend the time with you asking what you like before you start, how you feel about each wine as you go along and in our cases totally surprising us when we picked some wines we really liked that we’d never have tried their type had we never been to a tasting. Have friends coming over soon so this will be one of our go to places.

We stopped by on Father’s Day and enjoyed a tasting. Their selection is diverse so there’s something for everyone. Being from the North, I was unfamiliar with a muscadine but ended up enjoying the wine enough to purchase a bottle. When we arrived the view was amazing and a deer ran across the field. They have great outdoor seating options, some covered and some open air. We definitely will return when in the area.

We went as a group to this nice place and had a wine tasting.
As I was the designated driver, I only tried one sip of the Moscatino wine.
The ambiance is great, and the people serving are just so nice, that even without trying the wine, it was a really nice experience.

Most of our party of 16 went zip lining and since we were a little over an hour from our lodging and had a reservation at the Dillard House for dinner we needed something to do for a couple of hours. We found this little mountain gem. We did call ahead per the website request to order cheese trays. We were told that they could not accommodate enough cheese and crackers for 16 people, but they encouraged us to stop by the local grocery and pick up whatever we wanted, which is exactly what we did.
I will speak to the wine tasting first. I have never been to a winery where you paid per pour to taste. It is only a dollar a pour which isn't bad but I might have bought more if I wouldn't have gotten a little cheap. After $9 worth of tasting we decided on the sangria. Which is their homemade recipe. Our party went through 5 bottles of their sangria. Others in our party bought a case of various wines so, I would venture to say that our group enjoyed their wines.
Now on to the property, we were fortunate enough to visit when they had live music. There was a lot of seating between high tops, bar stools, tables, chairs, picnic tables, and Adirondack chairs. There is covered seating and open air seating. They have a corn hole game and some down right beautiful scenery.
We did stop and buy crackers, cheese and summer sausage at the Piggly Wiggly per the owners suggestion. We all spent 2 hours just sitting around enjoying our wine and snacks.
I will not say that the wine is the best around but for the experience that our group had it was just fine and gave us some great memories.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience here at 12 Spies! We appreciate the heads up for such a large group, and we are sorry about the shortage on the cheese trays, but being Memorial Day Weekend and the first decent weather we had seen we were pretty well packed. We do allow and encourage our guests to bring picnics to enjoy while taking in the music and scenery.

We developed our tasting program from feedback from our customers who visit other wineries and are stuck paying $15-$25 for a flight of tastings when they only want to try 1-2 wines.

We are Blessed with beautiful views and vistas and want to share with everyone to see how beautiful this county is and continue to come back and visit with us again.

Look forward to seeing back again soon! Cheers
