This restaurant continues to receive "U" ratings from the local health department and is not well managed. People come to the restaurant based upon its former quality and reputation.

There is nothing positive that I can say about this restaurant ! The meat was overcooked and the side dishes tasteless. The décor is depressing and certainly needs more lighting and updating. The service was very inefficient and seemed confused about why we were there. The food is way overpriced for the quality. Every aspect of this establishment will have to be changed before we will return. Very disappointing.

This restaurant has changed completely since my last visit and my original review of this place. Back then it was decorated like restaurants out the 1940s were done. The staff wore period costumes and the food was served family style. All of ther side dishes were home made and the iced tea was served in Mason jars. All of that is gone now. The person taking care of our table was dressed in shorts and a T-shirt. She was friendly and helpful as well as being very cheerful. The food unfortunately has declined a lot. Now you're given a sheet of paper and pencil. All of the various choices are listed on the sheet paper and you circle what you want. You get a main dish, three veggies, dessert plus rolls and cornbread for $9.99.

We were a party of three. One of our party had the liver and onions. It was severly overcooked to the point being REALLY tough. Another in our party had the nightly special which was a fried chicken breast plus broccoli cheese, macaroni & cheese and green beans. The greent beans tasted like canned green beans. The broccoli was basically good but was over salted. Unfortunatelly the macaroni & cheese was dried out. I had the beef tips over rice with green beans, lima beans and lionized potatoes. Like the macaroni cheese the potatoes were really dried out. The liima beans were good and the green beans canned. The dried out vegetables could have been caused by the timie of our arrival. We got there around 7:15 in the evening.

In summary this place is nothing like it used to be and the food isn't nearly as good as it once was. I'll be generous and say that perhaps the side dishes were better earlier in the evening. The Partridge used to be one of my favorite places to eat in Rome but now iits mediocre at best.

After reading the reviews, we wanted to give The Partridge a try. We each ordered different meals and each one of us had the same overall opinion. All of the food was so salty it was hard to get down. Then the waitress came back and asked if we would like to try the home made peach cobbler for desert. We all did, hoping that it would be significantly better than our dinners. Sadly, the canned peaches covered in soggy topping with a omelet tasting crust on top was just as disappointing. We will not be back. I think perhaps The Partridge is not what it was in its glory days.

With the history of the establishment I decided to give it a try for lunch, after waiting 30 minutes for our food the waitress informs us that she had to step out for a little while. We had to eat fast and furiously to finish within the lunch hour. Food was okay but service was not, if time is of essence don't go.
