We had our first visit the week of Septrmber 25th, the weather was beautiful. Despite the huricane a few weeks prior, the property and area were in great shape. Staff and locals were still busy with clean up, but it did not interfer with our stay or amenities. A quick walk to the beach and beautiful views from the roof top restaurant. We enjoyed the complimentary made to order breakfast each morning! The rooms are beautiful, spacious, and the private balcony was great for relaxing.

My fiancee and I booked our reservation for this place for the weekend of September 15th and due to the hurricane, we were not able to travel. After speaking with the "manager" Norma Jean, we were told that it wouldn't be an issue getting a full refund because the cause for the hurricane was out of both parties control. It's been three weeks and we still haven't been able to get our refund. We call every single day and haven't been able to get anyone to return our call. The receptionists have all claimed to be passing along our messages (when they did decide to answer our call- yes, they have caller ID) and numerous voicemails have been left. We have even asked for the owner several times and still no luck. We are out almost $800 and are left with no choice but to take Ocean Lodge to Court in which they will lose more. I'm giving this review one star because it's the only way to get the review on here. I just want to warn anyone who maybe thinking of staying here. Don't judge a book by it's cover.

We have been regular guests since 2012. Everything about the Ocean Lodge has exceeded our expectations.

It is a smaller property and the staff treated us as treasured guests from our first stay.

The daily breakfast is cooked to order. Borrow a bicycle and tour the island. Indoor parking is the lowest level of the building.

The largest room is 401 which has a balcony that opens from the front room and the bedroom.

There is a full sized table for enjoying room service or take out on the balcony.

The furnishings are lovely and comfortable. The kitchen includes a full-size fridge great for leftovers or grocery shopping.

Comfortable king-size bed, with a flat screen tv and a bath and a half!

One of our visits was a rain out and we still had a delightful visit.

Fabulous property made exceptional by the warm and friendly staff.

For beach fans, there is a 3 story building blocking direct view of the water. Across the street are several public access entrances to the beach.

This was our second stay and we spent 3 nights to celebrate my birthday. It was our first time staying in Room 401 and this is our new "go to" room indeed. It is on the fourth floor and is on the end with an enlarged balcony and the bedroom off the balcony as well as the living area. Although it is pricier, it is well worth it. We thoroughly enjoyed this layout as we spent the majority of the time enjoying the views of the ocean from the balcony. We discovered this lodge this past April when we celebrated our anniversary there. Very comfy bedding and furniture in general and love the separate living area and kitchen. The people who work there are very friendly from the check in to the guest services, cleaning staff, restaurant etc. It is small so feels more like home versus a large hotel. Quiet. Beautiful views, parking garage, elevator, etc. And love the rooftop restaurant as well as the full hot breakfast cooked to your order daily in the main level area. Across from the ocean but easy walk to access to the beach. We plan to return again and again.

Room Tip: fourth floor has best views and 401 is our favorite but has a premium price.

Joe is the best host. it is the first pick to stay on the island. Beautiful architecture, friendly staff, large rooms, great restaurant. The breakfast is superb. Can't recommend enough. All rooms have balconies that face the ocean.

Room Tip: All rooms have great views!
