Here's the nice things I can say about this place: We got a 2 bed/2 bath villa, and the layout was fine. The air conditioning worked well. The beds were pretty comfortable. The water pressure in the showers was good. The lobby is expansive and (recently) re- done. The exterior is rather nice, as are the grounds. And the beach is lovely, but that's not in part to the resort's doing. But that's where it ends. The rooms are in badly need of an upgrade, and we found it ridiculous to charge what they charged for the quality of the room for that very reason. We felt like we were walking into a condo that hadn't been touched since the early-to-mid 1990's. The pool bar was closed on a random Wednesday afternoon and we discovered that it "wasn't busy enough to stay open" any longer (I guess since the GA schools started already) but there was no warning on the website that they close it mid-August (in the peak of summer), so in order to get a drink at the pool you had to go inside to Echo. In doing so we discovered there was no host, so we sort of seated ourselves, at the advice of a server. The food we had there was good, but a bit pricey. We also found it crazy that everything was gated on the grounds so you needed your key wherever you walked on property, otherwise you would get locked out. If it's a resort, why do you need interior portions of the grounds locked? All in all, this resort was a huge let down and we will never stay here again, especially for the prices they charge.

We took a 3-bedroom condo apt for a four day stay with family, but something's missing. The building's are nice enough, and so was our apartment.

Food at the Echo OK, not great. Prices high for the quality. Then, one morning a Sysco truck pulls up to reprovision the property. UhOh! Sysco does prisons, doesn't it?

Then, there's the tap water, which is gawd awful. Take a shower and the whole place reeks of chlorine. Get bottled water for drinking.

The gym sucks, which I think is inexcusable for a resort. Yes, there are ellipticals and treadmills; but, only a single bench and rack of dumbbells for a workout. Not even a universal.

The pools are nice, although a bit too small for lap swimming.

The beach is nice. We didn't do golf or tennis--much too hot, anyway.

One other thing: The glasses and cups in our room were filthy, even though stored in their cupboards.

So, here's a tip, even if you're staying at a five-star: Housekeeping cleans [if you can call it that] glassware and ceramic cups by HAND. Think about it. Have you ever seen a housekeeper's cart with cups and glasses?

The hotel property is very pretty. Beach and everything. We went with our dog.
Service is inconsistent. Some employees are extremely nice. Others are very aloof and snotty.
My husband went for breakfast yesterday to the Ecco restaurant. The waitresses were very busy talking and he had to go and find them in order to get his order.
Today before leaving to go to Jekyll Island the housekeeper asked us if we needed service. I told her to come in an hour. Before leaving the hotel, my husband called front desk to ask them to have the room cleaned.
To make the long story short. Came back exhausted from our day trip. Room was as we left it.
Very expensive. hotel for the little service they provide.
Next time I’ll stay at the Westin in Jekyll Island.

My Girlfriend and I were at the K&P for a few days this week. We had breakfast at Echos on the 6th and were very disappointed. The 2 waitress that were working that morning inside ( 2 black ladies) never got their names didn’t see them much were more worried about a couple they seemed to know more than helping anyone else. One of them waited on us occasionally but it always seemed like she was in a incredible rush. I had to ask the young girl that bought our food for more juice. Every time we looked to see where they were both waitress seemed to be back at that one table chatting with the same couple. We also had a Beautiful view of the Ocean but there were so many dead flies in the window sills it took your appetite away. It didn’t look like they were wiped out often. We had to keep swiping flies to. I know doors are opened a lot but it seems like an exterminator might could help with this problem. My Girlfriend was at the Resort in April and had bad bar service also. They just don’t seem attentive at all and bothered you are there. It’s even messy. Clorox wipes, boxes of straws, empty milk jugs sitting around. It’s like they just don’t get it. There is one Bartender that is really nice he is Hispanic maybe. I hate we didn’t get his name.
On the Good note Our Room was Beautiful and Very Clean. We ordered coffee from room service and my Girlfriend said it was the same Gentleman that brought it when she was there in April also. Super nice Guy. Loved the new walkway in front of Hotel and walkway to Beach destroyed by Hurricane.
Just wish the Bar could get it together and act like their Happy to see you and Better Service at Echos.

Total disappointment. Made reservation in advance. When we got to the restaurant we asked for a table by the window and the hostess took us to one that had not been cleaned yet. We had no problem waiting for it to be cleaned so we could sit by the window overlooking the water. However, before we know it out comes one of the servers who tells her not to sit anyone there and was giving her a hard time. We reiterated to him that we would not mind waiting for it to be clean. Then the server comes over who was taking care of that table and also gave us a hard time about waiting for it to be cleaned. He then went over to the hostess and gave her a hard time about seating us at the table. They cleaned the table, we sat down. The waiter came over then and said he'd be back shortly. Took him 10 minutes to come back. We were getting ready to leave. When he came back finally. He told us he didn't know if they had a wine list because they only had two of them floating around. But he would look. After about 5 minutes he came back and said there were no wine menus. Gave us some story about the wine list just changing and reprinting up of wineless. At that point we decided to get up and leave. We shared our concerns with the assistant manager who was there. The manager did call us back and apologized. However, I don't think we will ever go back there. This is supposed to be a four or five star resort and restaurant. In addition to the poor service, the place was extremely noisy. Children running all over the place. People in bathing suits coming into the restaurant. It may be good for families. But it is certainly not a nice restaurant to go to to have a nice quiet evening and good meal. Think twice before you go there.
