Do you love french fries? So do I, but Hudson's doesn't serve 'em and you won't miss 'em after you try one of these burgers! Absolutely delicious! This is a 'no frills' place and I love it. Your options are cheese, pickles, and onions, that's it. Hudson's is small and not a lot of seating but well worth the wait. This is a must when in Coeur d'Alene and worth a stop even if passing through...it's that good.

Hudson's has been around since the early 1900's and four generations of family. Here, you will find basic burgers ($3.00) cooked in front of you with pickles, onion and your choice of ketchup, mustard or the two combined with horseradish which is delicious. Breakfast is served from 9-11 and consists of a ham and egg sandwich, a ham sandwich or an egg sandwich. No side dishes, but great chocolate, coconut or lemon meringue pie ($2.25). Counter stools only for seating and they close at 5:30 pm. No fries, shakes, etc. We talked to a customer who has been enjoying the hamburgers for 65 years. The owner is friendly and talks to all of the customers, asking where they're from, talking about golf or anything else. During the summer, there are lines out the door, but you can call to order and take it out.

Excellent simple cheeseburgers. Amazing customer service and nice atmosphere. Cash only. If you are in Coeur d Alene it is a very nice local restaurant for a cheeseburger.

Visiting this 109 year old establishment is quite an experience.
We could barely get in the door because the restaurant is not very big and was packed. There are only 18 seats around the counter and they only serve hamburgers, pie and sodas (very basic menu), but boy what delicious hamburgers (did not sample the pie) they are. Because of no fillers, you land up eating more than one 'just made' hamburger. The staff are incredibly efficient and friendly, getting you in and out in time to serve the next in line.
Fun experience.
