“Big breakfast - reasonable prices!”
Review of Barrel 55 - CLOSED

Barrel 55
Price range: US$4 - US$18
Description: Barrel 55 brings a unique casual dining experience to the Meridian/Eagle community. Celebrating the best attributes of the local " farm to table" movement, the restaurant offers great food, local Idaho beers on tap as well as a rotating assortment of guest taps, select Idaho wines, and a full bar in a relaxed atmosphere. A great place to hang out for happy hour or to enjoy a singular dining experience. The menu is suited for a wide variety of tastes, including the adventurous. In keeping with our philosophy, we have a selection of dishes that encourage diners to step out of their comfort zone and try something new. From Finger steaks to Bison burgers and sweet potato croquettes, our "perfectly unusual" menu is anything but standard. All our items are house-made using the freshest ingredients from local farmers and suppliers. Our meat is hand packed and sauces are house-made using local items such as local craft beer as a base, etc. Really there is nothing like us in this area. You have to try it!

Late breakfast after lunch - more like a late lunch. Stopped to see how the brunch tasted. Very good food, great Mac according to the 8 year old, and great breakfast bacon burritos!

Too long a wait for Le Peep so decided to try the Barrel Brunch. They don’t open the doors until 1000. It’s a nice environment but just not the best brunch service. They were out of pancakes right from the start. The biscuits and gravy were fine just a tad dry and needs a little kick to the flavor. Maybe a pinch of rosemary or thyme would do the trick. The Boise omelette was really good. My biggest issue was the Benny. One of the worst eggs Benedict I have ever had. They have this heavy metallic tomato jam or jelly thing on top which over plays any other flavor. The dish left you with a twanged taste of vinegar. There’s also a pepper onion dab on top of the home fries which doesn’t add much to it. Hot co co served from a bag of instant with piping hot water with no whip cream. Overall next time we’ll wait next door for better Brunch with more engaging flavor profiles.

it seems we missed the mark with you during your last dining experience. We try to accommodate individual preference as much as we constantly strive to improve our menu, customer service, and ambiance. We will use this review and others to tweak our service. Please give us another try when in the neighborhood to see the changes. Thank you for your review.

Barrel 55 has a wide variety of food and beers to choose from, it's a great place to go with several people due to large selection of food. We had friends in from Denver and they loved it!

The staff is very friendly, common for Idaho but glad to see the tradition continue at Barrel 55. Your first time there will not feel like your first time, and certainly will not be your last!

Give Barrel 55 a chance, you won't be disappointed!

Made reservations for a relaxing birthday dinner but when we got there we were put in a room where they were having a planting party. It was extremely loud, the sponsor of the event was talking with a microphone and they had loud music. They should not have had that side of the restaurant open for diners and should have told us at the time of the reservation. After sitting for over 15 minutes a waiter finally came to take our drink order. We ordered drinks and appetizers at the same time, drinks came after a while and finally got appetizers 40 minutes later. After being there for almost 1 1/2 hours the waiter comes to the table and informs us that our entrees come with salads and asks what kind of dressing we would like. Salads finally arrive 15 minutes later and finally the entrees come out, they were luke warm at best and looked like they had been under a heat light for a while (probably waiting for us to eat the salads). I have never had prime rib that was that dry and tasteless, for the price you should have been able to cut it with a fork - no so. The waiter never offered to take our dirty plates from each course, we had to ask him to and finally we put them on the next table (which had dirty dishes on it the whole time we were there) just so we had room at our table. Will never recommend this restaurant which is too bad because they had some unique items on their menu.

I was shopping nearby and decided to stop for a bite to eat on the way home. I was seated quickly and greeted right away by my waiter. I started my meal with a blood orange margarita which was delicious and had the prime rib salad as my meal. The salad was delicious as well although it does have a little kick to it! Service was great and I enjoyed the meal.
