“Nothing special but at least you are outside ”

Darlington Provincial Park
Ranked #3 of 8 things to do in Courtice
Attraction details
Reviewed September 16, 2018 via mobile

Many Provincial parks have something to offer visitors to do like hiking and swimming but also have a small bit of a hook where you can rent canoes or paddle boats. Maybe take in a show like a lift lock or even a lookout point, salmon runs or other outdoor activities.

This place has land and some waterfront; nothing else special. So go for the day but bring something to do otherwise it is just a lot of walking.

Brought our grandkids to the park for their first camping adventure. Lots of fun! The water on Lake Ontario however was a bit rough for them but no fault to the park. Very well kept park, well maintained and clean. The camping sites are very large...at least the ones with electricity. Staff was also very friendly.

Nice park however only inconvenience was the train which honked extremely loudly every 15-30 minutes even at nighttime, all night, I would finally get to sleep then woken up again by the train. You also hear the busy 401 traffic so doesn’t seem like your camping. The bathrooms were clean and showers mediocre. The store has different foods/condiments for if you forget, also some shirts/sweaters, campfire wood although the wood we bought was wet and couldn’t even light a fight due to how wet it was. The workers at the front where you pay seem angry and annoyed, did not show us how to get to campsite.

The garbage was overfilled and that's all we could smell the whole weekend!
Site was semi private,
Prob some of the most rude campers I've ever met.
My suggestion is to travel more north and hit the good parks...

We went in july weekend for a day picnic. Very busy but clean part to visit. Nice rocky beach but clean. Very busy so try to go in the morning as limited parking. Washroom was clean and open. Will go again close to toronto.
