I booked this hotel because it was really close to my family's home. The negative reviews kind of freaked me out, but I booked anyway, figuring I wouldn't be doing much more than sleeping at the hotel.
I'll be honest, I was surprised by how nice it was - what a beautiful interior courtyard! Yes, the carpet in the lobby is stained, but there were comfy sofas and a really lush atrium. Yes, it did smell like chlorine, but there is an AWESOME indoor pool.
The people at the front desk were friendly, pleasant and helpful. I was able to check into my room early (no charge). I took the cool glass elevator up to the 5th floor and trekked down a curvy hallway to my room. My room was beautiful - extra large room, King bed, nice TV, great AC. The bathroom was nothing special, but was spotlessly clean, awesome vaulted ceiling with a medallion in the middle. I loved it!
I didn't have a drink at the Cave Bar, but only because I was too tired. Didn't try out the pool or jacuzzi either. It looked really nice, but there were a bunch of teens hanging out in the evening, and I wasn't really feeling it. I checked out the pool in the morning befiore I left, and it was much calmer and very inviting. breakfast was meager, but adequate.
Overall, I'd happily return.More
