“Lovely little cottage to use as a base”
Reviewed April 22, 2016 for a stay in April 2016

We received a very warm welcome from Ian when we arrived and he was very friendly during our stay. We wanted to extend our holiday which we had spent at another cottage but was it fully booked so we booked Fell Cottage for one night. The cottage was cold, even with the extra heater provided (it was snowing the night we arrived though!) so I'd advise you to come prepared. Saying that, I would still recommend this cottage. We were impressed to find fresh milk and eggs were waiting for us and soap, kitchen roll and other essentials were also provided. The children (and husband!) enjoyed seeing the animals on the land around the cottage and the views were fantastic.

Thank you Iain for the warm welcome and the great comfort for the weary C2C Cyclists - I have no hesitation in recommending 'The Bunkhouse' as a great place to crash - PERFECT mate !

“Nice little bunkhouse on C2C route.”
Reviewed May 6, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Decent accomodation can be hard to find in the Durham part of the C2C route. I was pleased to secure a spot at this bunkhouse for our party of 6. Shayne and Ian were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The provision of cleaning materials for our bikes on arrival was greatly appreciated!! The bunkhouse is clean and comfortable. There is just the one bathroom and the shower isn't very powerful but it got the job done. The bunkhouse is situated high above Rookhope on a steep bumpy road - one last hill to climb at the end of a hard day. Further thanks also to Shayne and Ian for allowing us to have the bags delivered early and to store them for the day until we returned to pick them up!
