“Gorgeous”

Take the tour and absorb the incredible history as well as the breathtaking art that comprises the very building. It's by far the most beautiful place I have ever visited in Chicago.

“Beautiful”

Don't overlook this blocklong building (used to be the main library) for usually interesting shows of art, but also for the Tiffany dome ceiling. Free - just walk in, but stop at the desk for info on any free shows that might be taking place (often dance or music), or just grab a map and wander.

“Go for the building alone!”
Reviewed 18 February 2012

This historic place used to be the main Chicago Library, and it shows in the architecture and the Tiffany ceiling. The programming/exhibits here ebb and flow, but just walking around the place is great for old building buffs.
