this is the greatest draw for a quick day in the zoo with little kids or a great date. You can survey a large number of the animals quickly and get a good variety, the park is in a great location, and the ape house is fantastic. great as a regular monthly/weekly trip for the little ones as it is not too big to see a lot of animals without walking too much to tire out the little ones.

Even in Feb. we found plenty to enjoy at the Zoo. Just know the displays are somewhat limited at that time of year. The crowds are smaller and the animals seemed very active. Also talk to the volunteers to find out when animals are being fed to get a better experience. Easy bus trip out to the zoo from the downtown core. Would probably have rated this 5/5 in the summer. Also be sure to check out the conservatory. Really beautiful, as well as warm in the cold winter months

Looked like a great free place to enjoy the good weather (unusual for Christmas), but most of the animals were inside that day.

Lincoln Park Zoo is one of the one of the few top zoos in the US. Surprisingly it has NO admission charges. Go there when you visit Chicago. It primate collection is among the best. Then go visit the conservatory next door and have dinner/lunch in Lincoln Park neighborhood.

Great urban zoo. It is small enough to take really small tykes and see everything in a short period of time. Close to the lake, so you can usually catch a breeze even on a hot summer day.
