I went to chicago on a business tour and did not pay for my stay at the Omni hotel.
Good. The location is very nice. Despite being on the Michigan avenue, the hotel was quiet. The room (801) was spacious for one person. I also enjoyed that they served apples for free (day 1 not day 2). Free wifi. Helpful staff.
Could be improved: I had planned to take a newspaper after breakfast in the lobby, but they had run out of copies (had planned to read the chicago tribune or the WSJ). I also missed a mouse mat in my room, the mouse did not function on the otherwise nice glass table in my room.

Room Tip: I think all rooms are well isolated. I enjoyed having a room with a view towards the Michigan avenue...

First of all we couldn't believe how great the location was. You are right in the middle of Michigan Ave. where all the restaurants and shopping are. The best advice we got was to sign up for there awards program before booking. Be sure to do that. When we arrived they already had us checked in. Sweet! We had a very spacious room on the 23rd floor. It was a nice touch getting orange juice or soda every morning as well as a newspaper to start our day. The Concierge were so helpful every time we exited the hotel. They were always directing us to our destination or making suggestions of where to eat. Speaking of restaurants definitely go to breakfast at Orange which is just a few blocks away. We ended up walking down Rush St. most nights to go to dinner. We loved Carmine's and Hugo's Frog Bar! We will definitely be staying at another Omni Hotel in the near future!!!!

Room Tip: Sign up for their awards program!

The hotel is in a great location on Michigan Ave, in the middle of it all. Coming in from the street, you need to take an elevator to the third floor to check in. My daughters (5 and 3) were given little backpacks with snacks, crayons, activities, etc. by the bell staff. Check in was efficient and the staff friendly. The suite was nice, but not remarkable. We had a great view to the north of the Hancock Tower.
Used the pool to tire the kids out after catching a Cubs game at Wrigley Field. Nothing special as far as pools go, but it's indoors and heated. Good enough for the kids to splash around in.
The hotel restaurant, 676, was very good. Excellent service and delicious food.
The greatest strength of the hotel was the concierge, Amiri Hayden. He was extremely helpful with recommendations and directions. He never steered us wrong.
Overall, a very nice hotel in a great location.

We stayed here on a staycation, booked it through a random deal website and were generally happy with our stay. The location is pretty much the best in the city, right in the heart of the Magnificent Mile. While nice and comfortable, the hotel is sort of unremarkable once inside. The check-in is on the 3rd floor, and you have to stop there every time you come in the building to reach the elevators to the rooms. The room itself was a little small for a suite, but definitely quite spacious for a standard room. The wet bar was a nice touch. The decor was a little dated/generic. Didn't use the pool because it was small and filled with kids and sort of unappealing generally. Service was always friendly. The restaurant is very nice; the chef even gave us a tour of the meat-hanging room. Overall, a very solid hotel but perhaps lacking that "wow factor."

March break with the kids. Great staff, food (and I'm a foodie) and good location. Got the American girl package. Fantastic. I would stay for business as well. Good gym. Only concern - pool deck very slippery. Can't say enough about all the staff. Thank you.

I stay at this hotel at least 2 times a year. Great location! The suites have a nice sitting room with plenty of space to work and relax. Tip: Join Omni frequent guest club. You get morning beverage service and free wifi. Our meetings encompass meals served in meetings and I have to say here is my negative is that the food always seems too salty.

My wife and I traveled to Chicago in December of 2011, and spent 3 nights at the Omni. The rooms were very spacious, and service was excellent. It was our first time in the city, and the concierge staff was very accomodating to our requests. They were able to get us tickets to the Joffrey Ballet's Nutcracker, as well as reservations for great dinners on our nights there. The valet staff remembered our names the entire time we were there, and offered us some great suggestions for low-key, off the beaten path bars where we could relax after a busy day about the city. We look forward to returning to the Omni in the near future.
