Hotel Blake is located on Printer's Row, a 2 block street full of restaurants and shops ending at the old Dearborn Station. It is 1 1/2 blocks from the L and all local trains and airport Blue Line. This hotel has some of the nicest staff I've ever encountered. The night bellhop is jovial and always ready to talk about your day. The hotel has no restaurant of it's own, but Meli's is in the corner. Meli Cafe is a popular local hang out which serves all meals, has a nice selection of desserts and a bar. (If you want Sunday brunch there, don't go too late. It is packed.) The hotel is located in a beautiful historic building but the rooms are up to date and spotlessly clean. Our room had a very comfortable king bed and soft linens, a cozy arm chair and desk. I loved the bathroom because there was a huge counter to spread out my make-up and toiletries. Just a tip, I would ask for a room away from the elevators. They can be noisy although the hotel does provide the best earplugs I've ever used. (Chicagoans love to use their horns.). In the lobby, they have available lemon or cucumber water which is so refreshing, especially in the summer.
