“An Culinary Adventure”
Reviewed 25 February 2012

If you can handle some noise and a "no reservations" policy, this place offers a unique culinary adventure. The menu is full of unusual offerings, and everything we tried was delicious. The foie gras preparation was light and delicious -- the best I have ever had.
Fried pigs ear was served on a bed of crispy kale. The pig's ear was OK -- but the kale was GREAT! Tapas-style portions allow you to try lots of fun new preparations. We spent about $150 for 2 people -- with plenty of excellent wine.

“Great Experience”

Small shared dishes that were outstanding quality, not cheap for lunch, but a great treat. Beer and wine selections are superb and the wait staff is knowledgeable but do not hover.

“I guess you shouldn't sit at the bar unless you plan to eat...”
Reviewed 20 February 2012

I have been here a few times because I work nearby... and every time I am here I keep hoping the wine pour the on the prior visit was just a random occurrence of skimpiness, but I hate to say that's not the case. I grab drinks with friends at fun places all the time after work in Chicago, and sadly even though I love the food here I probably will never come back.. And on a recent Friday night at 5:30 when the bartender finally realized that we were only having a drink at the bar seats and not ordering food, he immediately turned into a catty acting guy with a stand off attitude and was blatantly gossiping with another co-worker. So unprofessional. Food is good, but if you are looking for a drink with friends I HIGHLY suggest going somewhere else.

“Best meal I've ever had”
Reviewed 20 February 2012

We sat at the bar to eat because there was a 45 minute wait for a communal table at 2:30 PM. Shows you how popular this restaurant is! We got to see them cook from the bar, a treat. Lots of items on the menu besides pork... we ate mussels, sea bass, grilled cauliflower, and chocalate, silky ice cream. Tons of interesting choices. We splurged on a 2005 Rioja wine. If we hadn't the bill for the small plates would have been really reasonable. Everything was delicious.
