As a fish eating vegetarian, I found the menu selection diverse and unique; not to mention the drinks!. The wait staff was very accomodating and informative. The bar area was crowded, but we had a table in the back which afforded us a more intimate dining experience. We stayed at the Palomar hotel, and my boyfriend and I were so glad we dined at the Sable Kitchen and Bar. We will return next time we are in Chicago!

What a find. This place has a unique menue of interesting and "comfort" foods. Having just spent a week in Charleston I was interested to find out if someone in Chicago could actually make good shrimp and grits. They were as good, maybe better than Charleston. The trophy wife lived the mussels. The chocolate bread pudding was fantastic. We had one of the best waiters ever. Ask for Geoff. Prices are reasonable for the quality. Most items are available as half portions, so try several and share.

Located next to The Palomar Hotel in Chicago, this place is great. From the valet park at the front door of the hotel, to the hostess and servers ~ everyone was friendly and welcoming. Our first course was delivered by Chef Terhune herself. Order small plate style and share. Marty the waiter guided us with portions and balance. The food is terrific. If you are looking for quiet, ask for a table away from the bar. If you are looking for activity, the bar is the place to drink and eat. River North Chicago blooms and delivers.

We were enticed by the thin crust pizza served at Palomar's complimentary wine-tasting plus our friend's recommendation, so we decided to sample Sable's brunch. The food is fresh, subtly seasoned, and creative. Vegetarians -- don't miss the mushroom-rice burger. Meat-eaters will love the perfectly cooked steak burger.
