Excellent! Always top service and gorgeous detail! Close to downtown shopping and surround by great restaurants. Will be back for sure. The quaintness is so nice. Feels relaxed yet upscale.
We have been here a few times now. I was reminded why we were drawn to this Hotel.

I stayed here in mid-October during a conference. My room was essentially a 1 BR apt with a living area, a large BR separated by an incomplete wall, a small "kitchen" area (with minibar) and a spacious bathroom with a shower, bathtub and 2 large sinks. It was all spotless.

The breakfast was good with a lot of options and varied a bit from day to day.

There was not a gym but a colleague said they were affiliated with one around the corner.

The location was excellent, two blocks from MI Ave. and 2 blocks from Whole Foods.

The only issue was the wireless internet which essentially did not work for me but I think it was an exceptional problem (and not the norm).

Love the location and romantic feeling of the IVY. We've stayed there a few times since they opened. Its starting to show some wear an tear though and the service has come down a notch or I would give it a 4.

I have stayed at this hotel several times and I have never been disappointed. As in all well run hotels, the staff make the most important contribution to the outcome of the stay. The Ivy certainly has a welcoming and well trained staff. The location is perfect, an easy walk to most of the attractions in the city. The building is very quiet, clean, well maintained and appointed.

Room tip: All the rooms would make a guest happy with their choice

Just returned from a 3 night stay at Ivy for a girls' weekend in Chicago. I booked here based on location, reviews, and I like boutique hotels. I was not disappointed!

Pros: Check in was quick and easy, room available early. Added security of needing a room key to operate the elevators. Rooms are very spacious, tastefully decorated, and well organized for multiple occupancy. Separate sitting area, 3 TVs (including one behind the mirror in the bathroom), two sinks, separate shower & tub, lots of outlets. Toiletries were of wonderful quality (no need to bring your own), 2 robes & 1 umbrella provided, towels were plentiful and of good quality. Keurig coffee available in the room with real cream (not sure if this was complimentary or not).

All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed Jonathon in the bar. He made dinner recommendations for us in Old Town, then went above and beyond to call the restaurant and inquire about the wait and made reservations for us (he was a bartender, not a concierge). The door man always offered to grab us a cab or offer directions.

The location was great - right off Michigan avenue and walking distance to many attractions. At check in they sent a welcome text - you could then use this contact for further requests rather than calling down. At turn down service they left a little sweet treat and a note with the weather forecast. Everything kept very clean.

Cons: No complementary bottled water provided, although I will mentioned the mini bar offered better prices than what seems typical. The CTA was much further away than I imagined (taxis and uber were plentiful).

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and I would definitely return. Although I wouldn't say the Ivy is inexpensive, I felt the luxury provided was quite good for the price point. Absolutely recommend!
