We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Chicago using our anniversary night awards from Chase Hyatt card (which is the number one card on my travel card rankings again in July). The $75 annual fees got us a room that would have cost about $250/night.

We were in town for a wedding at the Navy Pier. The location of this property was convenient - a short Lyft or Uber ride away from the Pier. It was also just a ten minute walk to Millennium Park, home of the "bean."

The lobby of the hotel is nice. It's clean and modern. Our room was okay. On the plus side, we had a great view of the river. The bathroom wasn't great for couples though, with limited surface area around the sink. Also, the only outlets near the bed were outlets embedded into the lamps and when the lamps were turned off the outlets went off also. That meant no charging of phones bedside while sleeping.

The housekeeping crew was very sweet and helpful.

Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again if the price is right.

This hotel is 3 star at best. We are staying 5 nights, so far (night 1) was horrible. While the staff is friendly and eager to help, our room in the west tower was noisy and run down. An attempt to remodel the rooms was made, but the workmanship is sub-par. Furnishing are beat up and need replacing. We paid extra for an upgrade. I am afraid to know what we upgraded from. On the plus side, the lobby and common areas are well kept and nicely designed.

If you go to Chicago The Hyatt Regency Chicago is a great place to stay if it's business or pleasure you will not be disappointed as it is very busy and lively place to stay. It's also located in minutes of the Magnificent Mile and other local attractions like Grant Park, Millennium Park, the Big Bean plus many other interesting museums. The bar scene inside the hotel is booming at night!! This is also a very popular spot for conventions and meetings so book ahead to avoid disappointments. There is also a Starbucks located in the lower lobby were you can pick breakfast and take it back to your room.
