The forest preserve is home to a herd of Elk along the bike trail. Very interesting to see.

The bike trails have bridges over the highways so the trails are safely away from cars.

The views are spectacular. Trees, lakes, forest, deer, sail boats, and the Elk. We love this place.

Had time to kill and decided to walk with our children on the trail on a beautiful day. It was wonderful to be in such a populated area and to get lost amongst nature. I wish we had more time. We will be back to walk again.

I frequent the "trails" at Busse Woods at least 2 times a week during the warmer Chicago months (if they exist any more) and they are nice for running or biking but beware, especially on weekends, they will be extremely crowded. Getting a good pace, especially on a bike, can be difficult and some people, like any where else, lack proper etiquette in using these trails. The Elk sanctuary is nice and they are finally putting a bridge to cross Higgins Road are some new highlights, as well as the new boathouse there to rent canoes, rowboats. Prices are fair and it beats bringing your own. I have yet to fish there, but there are always a lot of people fishing at the few damns located through the park. One last note, beware of where you travel through the park system, as there seems to be areas of less than upstanding citizens hanging out on a regular basis but the park's police do a good job of watching for this type of behavior.

Alittle slice of paradise in the busy suburbs. I used to ride this trail 2-3 times a week when I lived nearby. Visit the live Elk Herd at the corner of 72 and Arlington Hts Road; a special treat for children. Excellent paved trail winds through the woods and past several lake scenes. Parking in numerous areas. There are bridges now to ride over busy Rte 72 traffic. Great Exercise and Great for the Soul.

I just love this park. We come here many times of the year to go for a walk, fishing or biking. The Elks are so nice to watch and in Autumn they are very active, making funny noises. I like the mix of forest and open spaces as well as the beautiful lakes. You can spend much time there.
