Staying locally for a week and we're recommended to the New Inn by some locals who said they did the best steaks ever. As I love my steaks thought we would give it a try and weren't disappointed. Booked at short notice but were found a table (6 of us). Very friendly and interested in us, where we were staying and where we came from. Had two coeliacs with us and we're very accommodating, particularly for my six year old. As promised, the steaks were fantastic. Not haute cuisine, but great value for a local village pub. Would definitely recommend if you are staying locally and like your steak.

We went early evening mid week and it was very busy. Barman friendly and very helpful. Disappointed with so little on menu if you didn't like steak. As it was busy everyone had to wait a long time for their meal. Presentation could improve. Our plates were filled with peas, chips, salad garnish and the steak was buried underneath. The steak was nice. We enjoyed our wine. Doubt we would return.

Our experience was pleasantly (just) reminiscent of the 1970's - menu, crockery, cutlery, and the prawn cocktail as a starter. The barman was very friendly. The beers on offer were OK, although limited in choice.

The venue itself is neither very historical nor modern, and could probably do with a touch of investment.

The menu is pretty limited, based mostly on steak, as it is locally known for. The steak, however was average quality and not cheap.

Overall, the place could do with a bit more inspiration and bringing up to the modern age in terms of food quality - but many people will enjoy the trip down memory lane.

The New Inn is off the beaten track but well worth a visit.
Jeremy, the landlord is so friendly and welcoming.
They serve a great pint and serve brilliant food.
My partner and I both had sirloin steaks which were cooked perfectly and with all the trimmings it was a real plate full!
Advisable to book if you want to eat as the place is small but cosy.
Would highly recommend The New Inn and we'll be going back!

We used to visit here back in the 80's and was pleased to find the same owners there. The steak and kidney pie was just as good as it was back then too. Fantastic and would highlyrecommend it.
