Description: Egg Harbor Café in Hinsdale brings you the highest quality, carefully-sourced breakfast and lunch with fast, friendly service in a modern farmhouse setting, 6:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. daily. We serve free range eggs that are certified-humane. We serve Intelligentsia gold cup standard coffee, sourced directly from the finest small family growers. You will not find high fructose corn syrup in any of our food. We are happy to offer an excellent gluten free menu. Great food, great employees and happy, satisfied customers are the goals that influence everything we do. Owners John Wright and Mike and Aimee Farrell believe that Egg Harbor´s regular customers are the glue that holds us together. As a family-owned company involving three generations of children and grandchildren, we pride ourselves in being an extended family to a great number of people, both employees and customers, and in our restaurants´ active involvement in their local communities.

Enjoy their black currant ice tea served in mason jars. Friendly wait staff. Wonderful choices of entrees.

Always love this spot especially the pancakes and Door County melt but seeing that they are providing vets a free meal on Veterans Day tells me that these owners TRULY appreciate those that have "worn the uniform" which makes me more motivated to sing the praises of this fine and honorable restaurant group.

Thanks to all of you veterans everyday but especially this coming Nov. 11th.

"Honor to the soldier and sailor everywhere, who bravely bears his country's cause. Honor, also, to the citizen who cares for his brother in the field and serves, as he best can, the same cause."

Abraham Lincoln

P.S. My hope and prayer is that more restaurants and businesses truly give back to the men and women who bravely serve and not merely by posting a yellow ribbon or offerring a token 10% discount on veterans day. They should get that everyday.

Food very average to poor. Tasteless oven baked breakfast potatoes with a few raw green onions cut up into them. Eggs over easy were well done. Had to stop at Starbucks afterwards for a decent cup of coffee. Expected better after reading other reviews. Service was excellent.

Hi, Mark,

I am so sorry that your experience with us was not up to our standards. I am so glad you took the time to write this review as we are always looking to improve.

When you stopped by a few weeks back, we had just started using our new, updated quality potatoes. I absolutely take responsibility in the fact that they were not up to our standards, as we have been playing with the cooking time and seasoning amounts or these new potatoes and have finally mastered it. As for our coffee, we just switched this past week to a wonderful Sunrise Roast that Egg Harbor paired with Intelligentsia Coffee to create this new blend, which is a brighter, less bitter flavor.

I am so glad you loved our service, and I really do hope you try us again based off of that so we can provide you an excellent overall experience.

Thanks again,

Abbie
