Fantastic house in a perfect location, we did lots of walking straight from the door with the full instructions left by the owner. Lots of nice touches like the local biscuits and full local walks and pub recommendations. It was perfect for our extended family, we all fitted in very well. Great addition to the house was the log burner to warm us up after a long day on the mountains.
Fantastic stay in a spacious cottage. High ceilings, comfortable seats. Nice touches with Netflix and biscuits, ideal for a lazy day when wet weather. Highly recommend, Dave the proprietor is very friendly and has a useful guide with some lovely places to visit. Really looking forward to staying again.
Tarn house is in a beautiful setting. Fantastic views from the garden. Comfortable and well equipped. They have thought of everthing!
Our stay in Tarn House was a perfect family holiday. The views from the garden are really stunning and my grandchildren loved the swing too. This house is in a perfect location for both Ambleside and Grasmere. Tarn Hows and Skelwith Force Waterfall are must see beauty spots within such easy reach from this location. We felt spoilt indeed! - thank you.
Immaculate home, well equipped kitchen and very comfortable beds. Very quiet and convenient location in Lakes. Beautiful view from garden above cottage.
What a fantastic place! The Langdales have got to be the best part of the Lake District and to be able to walk straight from Tarn House into such beautiful scenery was brilliant. Its proximity to all amenities in Ambleside was very handy. Tarn House was superbly well equipped and nearby Chesters Cafe(gorgeous cakes and coffee) and Skelwith Bridge inn (delicious dinners) made our stay perfect. David (the owner) was extremely friendly and responsive. My family and visiting friends all loved the place and we'd love to return.
We all loved spending time at Tarn House . All you need for a relaxing break . Lovely white bedding and comfortable beds .Huge cosy sofas in front of a large easy to use wood burner . Well equipped kitchen with all you need for day to day cooking and special meals .
Our teenagers love the Den and the games ,books and films left for guests.
One highlight for us was watching the film "Miss Potter " on our first night in front of the fire .
Our Freanch guests had never heard of Beartrix Potter and were enchanted and we were all thrilled to discover that one of the films locations was the local (5min walk away ) Tarn . That made our walk to visit it even more special . The House really is right in the middle of the lakes and we very very happy here . Was too wet to use the garden but must be a lovely bonus in the summer .
Follow Daves route it the letter and use the photos he has provided and it's easy to find.
Dave always happy to help with any questions
