“Perfect spot!”
Reviewed September 16, 2018 for a stay in September 2018

Had a wonderful week at Tarn House. It is centrally located to see the beautiful lakes and villages. You know immediately that the owner loves the Lakes too.. great helpful hints. Wood fire was extra touch.
Remember this is England and there are stairs to everything!
This trip rekindled my love for the Lake District - thank you!

“Beautiful location, perfect for extended family holiday”

Fantastic house in a perfect location, we did lots of walking straight from the door with the full instructions left by the owner. Lots of nice touches like the local biscuits and full local walks and pub recommendations. It was perfect for our extended family, we all fitted in very well. Great addition to the house was the log burner to warm us up after a long day on the mountains.

“Tarn House”
Reviewed September 13, 2017 for a stay in September 2017

Fantastic stay in a spacious cottage. High ceilings, comfortable seats. Nice touches with Netflix and biscuits, ideal for a lazy day when wet weather. Highly recommend, Dave the proprietor is very friendly and has a useful guide with some lovely places to visit. Really looking forward to staying again.

“Lovely welcoming family accommodation”
Reviewed August 24, 2017 for a stay in August 2017

Our stay in Tarn House was a perfect family holiday. The views from the garden are really stunning and my grandchildren loved the swing too. This house is in a perfect location for both Ambleside and Grasmere. Tarn Hows and Skelwith Force Waterfall are must see beauty spots within such easy reach from this location. We felt spoilt indeed! - thank you.

“Amazing, spacious house in perfect Lakes location”
Reviewed May 13, 2017 for a stay in April 2017

What a fantastic place! The Langdales have got to be the best part of the Lake District and to be able to walk straight from Tarn House into such beautiful scenery was brilliant. Its proximity to all amenities in Ambleside was very handy. Tarn House was superbly well equipped and nearby Chesters Cafe(gorgeous cakes and coffee) and Skelwith Bridge inn (delicious dinners) made our stay perfect. David (the owner) was extremely friendly and responsive. My family and visiting friends all loved the place and we'd love to return.
