This was one of the best rentals we’ve ever had. When we got to the house, we found several dishes of food for us in the fridge, wine, and snacks. The kitchen is really well stocked—not only plenty of dishes, eating utensils, glassware, etc., Daniela also had coffee, olive oil, sugars, and jellies for us. There were soaps, toilet paper, and paper towels. Every day she came to see that we had a good day and brought us a treat—paté, chocolate mousse, candies. The morning we left, there were pictures and hugs all around with Pierre and Daniela. I truly felt at home, not in a rental.
The Bayeux area is wonderful. We spent a day in Bayeux seeing the tapestry, the Cathedral, and the War Museum. Another day we drove to Mont Saint Michel. We engaged a private tour guide for a full day tour of the D-Day beaches. We want to return to the area--there is much more to see.
Located perfectly for the D day beaches. This spot was exactly what we wanted. It is a short drive from the nearest shops and restaurants but we knew this in advance so it was no problem. An extremely well equipped kitchen meant preparing the meals was easy and our wonderful hosts made sure we were supplied with treats such as cakes, biscuits, fruit (from their orchard), finger snacks, croissants and soft drinks. The well furnished rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean, as were the bathrooms. The third bedroom is a mezzanine style loft room with access from the second bedroom. Danielle and Pierre were charming and welcoming hosts who went out of their way to make us feel welcome.
We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay in the La Maison des Roses. The owners were extremely friendly and welcoming and ensured we had everything we needed for our stay. The house was well-equipped and we enjoyed playing pool and table tennis. La Manoir was in a great location to get to Bayeux and up to the coast. We would definitely stay here again.
A very nice stay in the countryside. Not just close to Bayeux, but also to the beaches of the Normandy landings. The hosts are very kind, and even allowed us to pick apples from the apple tree in the garden.
