With a Morton's down the street, the family is divided in its loyalties but that doesn't take away from how great RC is. The steaks are phenomenal as well as all the sides. Mohammed is our favorite waiter but the service is good no matter who it is. Great choice for celebration or just a cozy night at the bar watching a ballgame.

Sizzling hot plates serve your steak piping hot but unlike Mortons, Mastro's, Gene and Georgettis they give you a little whipped potatoes and couple of asparagus spears. Really what do the extras really cost them anyway for $45 a steak Please!
My filet was outstanding along with the Halibut both excellent Service top rate and atmosphere plush and elegant
All round a great special occasion or business dinner Top Shelf

Going to a steakhouse can be a pricey proposition as the cost of aged prime beef is up in the stratosphere. So, if you are going to pay $50 or more for a hunk of beef, you had better get a great steak. Ruth's Chris consistently delivers with tender meat cooked to your precise preference on temperature. Served on their signature sizzling hot plate with garlic butter, these gems never disappoint.

This time I tried the large porterhouse for 2, served Peter Lugar style on a platter cut off the bone in large slices and then reassembled. To me, this is he the ideal combination of filet and strip cooked on the bone to a prefect medium rare. It delivered superb taste and consistency needing no toppings, although I have had their bearnaise in the past and it is excellent as well. Side dishes serve 2 or more and all are good choices. Chicken and fish lovers can be very happy here as well.

Salads are huge and relatively inexpensive ($9 to $11) and the appetizers are $15 or more. I was a little disappointed in the BBQ shrimp appetizer as I was expecting larger shrimp in a spicy sauce like the signature dish at Pascal's Manale on New Orleans, and this version was not close to that perfection. For $17, they could do better than 5 25/30 count shrimp.

Four of us split the white chocolate bread pudding and it was wonderful. Service was perfection (our server was Mark, who waited on us the last time we were at Ruth's Chris).

Wine and spirits are available from an extensive list, but there is a litttle gem of a fact to consider. For a very reasonable $15 corkage fee, you can bring that wonderful bottle of old Bordeaux that you have been saving for a special occasion.

Chicago has many good steakhouses but none of them provide a better steak than Ruth's Chris. Also you will find that the prices here are less outrageous than the competition. Yes, Ruth's Chris is a chain but it is a chain that provides the same quality of food and service at each of their locations.

I visited the specific Ruth's Chris three times during the week of March 12th while on a business trip two days was strictly food from a happy hour menu but you can have an entire meal by eating these appetizers one night I joined a friend and we shared appetizers and H did indeed order a delicious meal specialty that included filet shrimp and a glass of wine for $35. Each day the food was extremely good and the staff were very attentive. I would definitely frequent this Ruth's Chris if I lived in the local area.
