We were attending a national conference that was being held in the Oak Brook Marriott Resort hotel. Conference attendees were offered discounted rooms at the Marriott for $115.00 per night. We searched online and reserved this La Quinta for less than half of the Marriott rate for room with a king bed. When we checked in, we were told that since we were staying for 6 nights we were being upgraded to deluxe king room with a refrigerator and microwave. Our room was large with a recliner, flat screen TV, free Wi-Fi, a closet, large bathroom and comfortable bed. It was quiet and clean. Breakfast was more than adequate. Two miles from the Marriott, it couldn't have been more convenient. Some of our colleagues who stayed at the Marriott complained that their rooms were small with a lack of drawer space and no refrigerator or microwave and they had to pay $14.00 a day for internet access. We were very happy with this hotel and would definitely stay there again. For us, it was perfect in every way

OK, you can stay in Chicago for the big bucks or you can stay here for a lot less. This place is clean quiet and priced for less than a third of what would cost down town and you don't have to pay fro parking.

It was difficult to get a good night's sleep with such thin walls and other guests voices loudly penetrating our walls. The windows have short curtains so the sunlight pours into the room and there is no way to block it. The internet did not work the entire second day, and housekeeping showed up at 6:30 AM! The breakfast was below average and served in Styrofoam. Some rooms have been more updated than others; ours was not one of those. Also, the location was chosen because of the proximity to the city, but we had to pay tolls over and over to and from the hotel and the construction around the hotel was terrible (NOT worth it!)

In Chicago, this is a real bargain. For the price, the place was much more than we had expected. It was in a nice setting, the facility was bright, clean and welcoming. The room and the bath facility were large. It, was well furnished with a good bed. At night, the exterior was well lighted and one felt safe and secure. The breakfast had a nice food selection in an attractive dining area. We found the staff above average, friendly and helpful.

I cringe when I have to find a hotel room in an area I've never visited before. The reviews on here about bugs and break-ins terrify me.

But this, as other reviews have read, is a true gem. We stayed for one night from 9pm to 8am. Checkin was a breeze, they had everything printed and ready for me to sign. Checkout was just as easy. Just hand them the keys and go.

All rooms have indoor entrances (as opposed to other La Quintas I've been to). However, it's not a long walk down a long hallway. There are at least 6 exterior doors that you can enter to get you closer to your room.

Its a small place, but the rooms are huge. We had a king room and it included a recliner and two chairs for the executive size desk in the room. FREE WI-FI ! And not some spotty wi-fi either. Nice strong signal. Probably about 20 channels on the TV including HBO.

We had a fridge and microwave in the room, that was a nice suprise.

The bathroom was HUGE. You could easily fit 10 people in - if that's what you're into. Lots of counter space and good lighting.

The entire building is NON SMOKING. That's a bummer, but it smelled really nice in the room so I dealt with it.

My only complaint is that the shower head was designed for a midget. (no offense to the vertically challenged) It came to my shoulder and I'm 5'9".
