Description: The history of McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurants began when Bill McCormick purchased Jake's Famous Crawfish Restaurant located in Portland, Oregon, and brought the more than 100-year-old landmark back to life. When asked the secret of how he revitalized a restaurant on the brink of closing, McCormick says, "I like nothing better than being a good host." Part of the managerial talent McCormick tapped was Doug Schmick, a management trainee. The two formed a partnership in 1974, creating Traditional Concepts, a precursor to today's McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurants. In 1979, they opened the original McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant in Portland, Oregon. Since that time, the company has expanded to more than 80 restaurants across the country. The combination of an open imagination and a respect for tradition are what makes McCormick & Schmick's the classic and successful business that it is today.

Reservations @ 6:30 PM Saturday night.
Walked in bar area was a ghost town.
Waited at hostess counter.....after 5 minutes we were seated.
Ordered 2 cocktails......waited and waited.
Asked our server to check on the status of our drinks her response "are bartender is slow" . No reason to be slow as the bar area maybe had 4 people sitting at the bar.
Ordered lobster Bisque soup, was good.
Ordered a wedge salad, there was 5 tiny crumbled. I asked for more bacon server brought a more crumbled and then she brought 2 bacon strips.
Main course: Strip Steak w roasted red pepper mash.
Server came back to the table with a menu for my husband, not a good sign.
Informed that they were out of strip steak. Joking right? Husband ordered the bone-in rib eye. I asked "we are going to be charged the strip steak price?". Server gets manager says, she yes.
I order the American Kobe burger with Chesapeake fries.
Plate came with no seasoning on the fries.
Conclusion: Will never go back. Food was mediocre. There are so many other restaurant choices in the area, go somewhere else.

A large group of us meet at McCormack and Schmicks for happy hour. Despite giving them a heads up, they only had one bartender to make drinks for over 20 people. The wait was too long. Our waitress was spread too thin and stressed out. One of our party ordered lettuce wraps, which came with a bug in it. He received an apology, but his meal was further delayed and yet his order was not comped. Next, she got the orders mixed up and needed to correct the check. It was just another bad experience. We plan to go somewhere else next year.

This was the location for a group meeting - mostly hors d'oeuvres and drinks. Standing in a corner of the bar area, the service was efficient and friendly and the finger foods and appetizers were great. The restaurant looks like a great place for a cozy and private meal and the environment was upscale. Would like to return here for a full meal.

I was staying at the Lowes Hotel & this restaurant is right outside the front door. The ambiance is warm with a very high vaulted ceiling and lot's of dark wood and molding. The bar is large & stocked with about everything you could ask for. They have a very nice happy hour menu, so it's a good deal to go then if your value conscious. The menu has a wide assortment of salads, seafood and meat, but I wouldn't say all that unique.
