We used to visit the Strode arms on a weekly basis... then after Tim and Ann-Marie left, each set of subsequent owners just frankly didn't measure up! We were therefore very surprised after visiting the pub yesterday (on a whim) that the food was very good! Ok, still not quite as good as 'the good old days' but very close! The steak we ordered was cooked perfectly! And the pie of the day was obviously home made, and very tasty!

I look forward to returning and hopefully the quality of the food being even better on our next visit! Best of luck to these new owners!

Thank B S

Went for a afternoon at the ESR and read up on The Strode Arms sounded good, got there early nice setting by the pond, very old pub quite rustic so mind the steps, very welcome by the young lady. We found a seat by the window in the corner, we both ordered Sirloin Beef which came with fresh hot veg to serve ourselves and the Beef arrived on hot plates with ample pots and parsnips Yorkshire Pud it was excellent could not fault it, cost was £11.95 but you got plenty I did not eat it all, followed by a filter coffee
