We stayed at Eagle Valley Cottage as a family of 4 and I could not recommend it more. First let’s talk about the surroundings. The cottages are in a remote location, which is actually what most people looking to book this place should be looking for. However, you can easily find interesting activities within a 15-20 minutes driving distance (some nice beaches 5 minutes away in Half Island Cove, Canso Island national park and Black Duck Cove that are ~15 minutes away. There are 4 cottages, and I'd assume they're while all the same on the inside they offer different landscape and view. for instance the cottage we had (the first one past the reception cottage) had the most amazing view looking down at the valley. However the "backyard" is mostly in a slope, hence if you have kids that want to play ball or other sports, some of the other cottages might be better option. The more you advance, the more flat the terrain is, but you also have more and more of the view blocked by trees. It is just a detail we noticed and we didn't mind, but if this trade-off matters to you, I'm sure you can just mention it at booking and they'll give you a cottage that fits your need!
Speaking of service, it was excellent. Barbara was always available whenever we needed something. She showed us around when we arrived, and also left some chocolates and treats for us.
The cottages are very well equipped, nothing we could have needed during our stay was missing. As a plus there was a lot of games and equipment provided: fishing rod, kid games, cards, walkie-talkie, badminton set etc. You’d have a hard time getting bored. Speaking of this there’s also a trail connecting all of the cottages together, where you’ll find types of of swings to entertain the little ones. While each cottage don’t have their own fire pits, there’s a communal one that you can use (fire wood provided).
All things considered, if was an amazing stay, very relaxing. If we’re ever back in this area, this is where we’ll stay for sure!
Merci beaucoup!
My husband and I were planning our honeymoon and we decided to stay at Eagle Valley cottages. Barbara and Gerhard were so excited to have us stay for our honeymoon and decorated the cottage for our arrival. We were warmly welcomed, toured the cottage and Barbara and her husband were so friendly and helpful with any questions we had. The cottages are absolutely amazing, well stoked with everything we could want like fishing, games, cards and cooking spices, and Barbara always ensured that our garbage was emptied and we had clean towels when we were out exploring Nova Scotia. Our honeymoon is a once in a lifetime experience and they put so much thought and effort into our experience. We are so grateful for their hospitality and we will absolutely be returning. Thank you Barbara and Gerhard for this amazing experience. Sam and Nicole Hanna.
We had such a warm welcome from Barbara who prepared the cottage with special touches to celebrate the New Year. Very generous and thoughtful. The cottage was warm and had all the necessities including a full kitchen plus extras. The stars were amazing at night. You feel like you are far away from civilization, in your own little world. The cottage was spotless, the beds comfy, the towels fluffy and the price was a great deal for a spacious 2 bedroom. We look forward to coming again.
We stayed in cabin 46 with another couple while touring on our motorcycles. The cabin was absolutely perfect, one of the cleanest I have ever stay at it had everything required for our over night stay, even an added touch with muffins for the morning and a chocolate on the pillow. Would definitely stay there again.
The owners were very friendly and welcoming and didn’t rush us out the next day.
Thank you for your hospitality
Kind Regards
Phil.
These cottages are wonderful! Large living area, European styling, cozy comfy beds with soft and warm duvets. Everything you need. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because they don’t provide shampoo, etc. Not a biggie. The cottage was super clean and very well cared for. Barbara greeted us at check in and instead of just explaining to us how to get to our cottage, she drove there and had us follow her. And there was a fresh strawberry rhubarb pie on the table for us . There were drawers filled with card games, out door stuff like a fishing rod and badminton rackets, candles, bbq utensils, etc. There is a huge fire pit for guests to use. There were 2 nice patio chairs on the deck. Not cheap plastic ones. Satellite tv and free wifi-was great for our 10 year old. We enjoyed coffee sitting in the sun, listening to the birds. So peaceful and quiet. All you can see is trees and sky. A little slice of paradise. We wish we could have stayed longer and will be back soon. It is a really comfortable, clean and welcoming space. Also, the cost was $120.00 plus tax a night so cheaper than what is advertised and great value for what you are getting.
What a truly beautiful place to stay. Off the beaten path with all the peaceful charm you could ask for. Cottage was "very" well equipped, perfect for us. Enjoyed a beautiful evening outdoors after a great dinner of BBQ oysters, steamed mussels and sautéed scallops. Such a reasonable cost for a top-notch accommodation.
We were there for a memorial service, the weather was terrible, and yet, because of these cottages, we enjoyed our trip. These cottages are fantastic. Pine everywhere!! There is nothing that you need to bring, the owners thought of everything. There were even games and a fishing rod!! The location is amazing. Great walking trail through the woods. Only wildlife we saw were birds and a bunny, but I'm sure that's because of the rain. Most attractions were not open until June, but we managed to enjoy our little cabin in the woods. Great hosts!! I'd give more than 5 stars if that was possible.
