We stopped at the Lion on our way through to Dunwich and had a very enjoyable and relaxing lunch.
The sandwiches were served with a fresh salad and chunky chips and the food was plentiful and of an excellent quality.
The staff and locals sitting at the bar were very friendly and helpful.
Well worth popping in for lunch and dinner, you won’t be disappointed.

We had a great lunch here - a lovely welcome, delicious food and wonderful service. Nothing was too much trouble and the landlord even varied the menu for us to accommodate my son, which was very much appreciated. Will definitely be back.

What a gem this pub is! My husband and I (and our two teenage kids) stayed in the two cabins - one double and one twin - last night and they were lovely: compact, but cosy, comfy and clean. Each cabin has a bedroom and a small en-suite with a shower, basin and toilet. There are only two cabins, which are located in a quiet area at the end of the garden at the back of the pub, so not far to walk at the end of the evening and there are paddocks beyond with cattle and horses. We dined at the pub last night and the food was delicious - all freshly cooked to order and lots of local specialities - and the pub itself was cosy and inviting, with staff who are very friendly and helpful. This morning, Tom, the landlord, brought the hearty full English breakfasts out to us at the cabins (I like these sorts of breakfasts as I don't like eggs or mushrooms, so it's good to be given the chance to pick only items that I like!). It was a shame that the weather wasn't great, otherwise we would have eaten al fresco as there were tables and chairs just outside the cabins. We were only in the area for one night, but it would be a great base for a longer stay in the area.

Having left another pub in Knodishall due the fact of a changed Landlord and menu, we called in at the Lion only to find a varied menu, good prices and a good beer selection( beer festival) Food was ordered and arrived piping hot. It tasted superb and the lady on the bar was very friendly and welcoming .-Highly rated.

Decided to pop into the Lion for lunch to-day as our party of 3 like the pub and fancied a snack.
It's a friendly 'local' with a decent choice of real ales and a lovely menu. We all opted for the delicious warm potted shrimps, side salad and fresh bread, delicious and reasonably priced.
