“Gorgeous Building”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 October 2011

Impressive is an understatement. I was told it is the largest Scottish Rite building in the US. Very busy with weddings even during the week. Open to the public 10am to 2pm, even if you don't go in it's worth a look.

“Magnificent Structure!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 July 2011

What a pleasant surprise downtown Indianapolis was! This is one of many beautiful large buildings around the capital! We stopped on our way home just to see the area and ended up staying for 4 hours! Walk around the whole building and see the ornate touches. Take a walk down the peacewalk on the side to revisit some memorials to great american icons! If you love gothic architecture, this is must see!

“Beautiful place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2008

If you are in the downtown area make sure you stop to see this place. The ballroom and theater are beautiful. The woodcraft is impressive. While you are there stop at their cafe and have lunch or a snack. They offer free tours (~15-20 min) to individuals and charge a small fee for group tours. The tours are offered by members of the Scottish Rite, our tour guide Fred, with an architecture background, was friendly and very knowledgeable. Free parking.
