me and my friend on our second day visiting this city that i must say is on the high rise to the greats if not already there and we was on a small bridge and saw this beautiful undescribable flow of water being blown in the air and under that being a bigger body of water (from my research i believe that was waters from the white river) so we decided to go and see whats up with it and we would never regret the canal walk great scenery, spacious, great people, road on the paddle boat fun fun:), got to see the free arts museum which is connected right with the canal walk, great seating areas, the location was well thought of
The canal is a great scenic walk that is very well laid out and all the museums along the route are beautifully built. The canal can get crowded at times with runners and slow moving groups. Great access to all the museums, Lucas Oil Field and the zoo is at the end of the canal.
My wife and I are members of the Indy zoo and the Gardens,so whene we go there we walk along the canal
The canal is a wonderful escape partially hidden in the middle of the city. Jogging or skating along the sidewalk, gondola rides, free summer evening concerts on the grounds of the Historical Society--all of this and more make the canal a special place worth repeated visits.
