Description: Bluebeard is a restaurant and bar located in the historic Holy Rosary Neighborhood on the southeast edge of downtown Indianapolis. Abbi Merriss has joined up with longtime friends Tom and Eddie Battista to create a unique food-focused experience. The menu offers contemporary American cuisine featuring the best local produce and meat our farms have to offer. The space, a renovated 1924 factory warehouse, features a family dining room, a bar room, a private dining room and a courtyard. Our menu varies daily – inspired by the freshest and finest ingredients. We believe food is meant for sharing, and these are the local farmers who have shared their ingredients with us: Big City Farms, Butler Campus Farms, Crossroad Vintners, FarmIndy, Fischer Farm, Full Hand Farm, Growing Places Indy, Gunthorp Farms, Harvestland, Josh Horrigan, Smoking Goose Meatery, South Circle Farm, Traders Point Creamery, and Viking Lamb.

Mixed review
The place was exceptionally crowded and we were lucky to get a table. However we were right on top of the tables next to us. As the tables next to us were in town for the same conference it was awkward.
Despite the crowds we did not have to wait for our meals to be served like other reviewers.
The charcuterie and cheeses were nice portions, but the breads were nothing exceptional and although the waiter portrayed the cheeses as exotic and unique they were nothing different than what you could pick up at a whole foods. They were good though. The pickled herring was disappointing. Not as good as a jar in the grocery store.
The rest of the meal was very good but not exceptional.. Not having eaten at many restaurants in Indianapolis dont have a lot to compare.
I liked the sizing of the portions. A great way to gauge what your getting.
Servers were helpful.

Thank you for coming in and taking the time to write a review. We take great pride in what we do here and are so pleased that you enjoyed yourself. We are in a warehouse built in 1924 and there were a few trade-offs we had to make when it came to our space constraints. We look forward to your next visit.

We REALLY enjoyed our dinner at Bluebeard. Plan ahead and allow some time to find on-street parking. It's there but you will have to do some circling. Bluebeard does not accept reservations so go early (they open at 5) or late (after 8 until 11 closing). So much for the mechanics, here's the food situation ... it was great. They list appetizers, sides, entrees -- small, medium and large. The sides are large and can serve up to four diners. We (just two of us) had a side and a large entree to share. Three sides don't change -- we had the roast cauliflower which was excellent. The entrees rotate (check the daily menu on line) the halibut was excellent. We had the cheese pie dessert -- also excellent. Our server was very helpful and the rest of the staff was very friendly.

Had an excellent meal here! So simple yet so good! The menu is structured a little differently than traditional with "small, medium, and large" plates. Classic appetizers and more spunky ones. Really fun to look at. We did the bread app, a cheese board, the spaghetti, the cauliflower, and the spicy shrimp dish. The accompaniments on the bread board were really good, cheese board was a great size, the spaghetti was really delicious. It had a great flavor and comfort food satisfaction to it. The shrimp dish was so flavorful, perfect level of spicy where you get a kick but can keep eating it without needing to drink water or wait for the kick to wear out, and I could have eaten the roasted cauliflower as just an entree. It was so simple yet so delicious! Drinks were great too. Will definitely return when we are in Indy next time.

Bluebeard is Indy’s hidden gem! Their menu is always changing, but the food never disappoints. I recommend starting with a sampling of charcuterie or fresh bread. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful with selecting cheese, meat, and wine pairings. The old fashion is also amazing here!
