We made reservations here to celebrate our son's birthday, because he said they offer a unique dining experience. We were pleasantly surprised at the modern, remodeling appearance and the upscale trappings of this relatively new eatery on the near east side of downtown Indianapolis. I was the same weekend of the famous Indy '500' race, but we were early enough to beat the crowds that arrived later that evening. Our gracious server: Amanda, took excellent care of our table of eight adults. She explained all of the specials and regular menu items. We enjoyed a variety of succulent dishes, all presented in an artistic way.

V.I.D.A. gives us hope that steakhouses have not completely taken over the Indianapolis dining scene. We went 3 times in one month. The menu was slightly changed each time, and even the wine list evolved during that period. There is a 4-course prix fixe option at a very affordable price - allowing any selection, no restrictions, but we found we could still order our own appetizers and perhaps share a main course. The staff is very flexible in this regard. The bar is a nice place to have a cocktail (very solid whiskey list) prior to dinner. The building is a combination of old and new. Food was delivered at a good pace and tasted delicious. Donuts for dessert - not to be missed.

Highly recommend this place. Also, if available, Alex is an excellent server and has vast knowledge of the wine offered.

This restaurant is very much above the usual Indianapolis dining experience! From the recommendations on TripAdvisor, our family chose to eat at Vida. This turned out to be one of our favorite meals of all time. The restaurant is modern and yet welcoming. The staff is smoothly efficient and gracious which is usual at Cummmingham establishments but this group was even better than usual. We ordered the 4 course meal since everything on the menu could be included—you put it together to suit yourself. This is not one of those places with endless choices (check the menu) but the options were excellent. Their portion sizes were perfect for a 4 course meal so you could enjoy it all without feeling miserable at the end. The shrimp starter was wonderful. Each dish was beautifully presented and the attention to detail was spot on and you could tell that great care had been taken with all components. The flavors in every dish were complex and unique. The pea salad course was very creative. There were 6 of us and we chose several different entrees. Every one was extremely happy with their meal. The pork was a stand out, also the steak, chicken and scallops. Then we got to the desserts and were equally impressed. The ricotta donuts were fabulous. The chocolate dessert received high marks too as did everything else. One of us watches their long range blood sugar and after checking, we found that they had a huckleberry sorbet (not seen on the menu) and it had wonderful flavor and was a huge treat. The wine list here is high quality and a bit pricey but both our red and white choices went well with the meals and added to the experience. We were so happy we chose to visit Vida and look forward to returning.

To celebrate our friend's upcoming marriage, we treated ourselves and the bride to Vida. We were seated at a round table in the front corner of the bar and even though it was crowded, we felt as though we had the place to ourselves. Our server, Jocelyn, was attentive, knowledgeable, and patient. We enjoyed our wine, food, dessert, coffee and lots of laughs without feeling rushed.
