We recently gave this place a try during South Bend's downtown restaurant week. They were busy, as expected when we got there, but not by any means full. We were seated quickly, but thats about the extent of the positives. I am not sure if they just were not staffed to accommodate the number of guests, but our service was atrocious. The food was ok to not good at all. We got a piece of red velvet cake for dessert, my husband and I each had one bite and could not eat anymore of it. It was dry and horrible tasting. Our entrees took over an hour (for a salad and shrimp scampi) and the people sitting behind us got their food before us, even though they were seated about 15 minutes after us. A female in a suit (which I assumed to be a manager) walked by us several times with empty plates and empty drinks in front of us and never stopped to check on us at all, even though I know we must have looked very displeased. We then sat for 20 minutes with our coats on waiting for our server to bring our check. When the server did finally bring it (after we had to flag her down) there was no apology or anything for the wait. We would never go eat here again. Very disappointing.

First night in South Bend with a hockey team at the Doubletree and the USA / Canada Jr.'s are playing for the Gold. Where to go? They fit the whole team in the bar and tuned every TV to the game. Kids had to stay outside the bar (Indiana law) but the staff were excellent in accommodating a group of 30 at pretty much last minute, so I'll forgive a lot. Personally had the wings, and they were some of the best I've ever eaten. Beers were cold and service was great. One of the Managers was kind of snarky to the kids when they would spill out of the booths and were in the walk way between the bar and the restaurant. All she had to do was just tell them nicely, but she just kind of assumed they needed a blasting instead of communicating with them as young adults. Hate to even mention that as the rest of the experience was outstanding. One last thing, our waitress was unreal great. My daughter wanted a chicken caesar wrap (which was not offered on the menu) vs the caesar salad which was all they offered. Our waitress, said she would get the kitchen staff to whip one up for her, they used a tortilla from their fajitas, and it turned out to be excellent which made my daughters day after a full day of travel. That was unreal customer service and we thank you very much for it!!

We ate breakfast here as part of our stay at the Double Tree. The menu is extremely limited and was really a small buffet. I would classify this as what you would see on an executive floor of a hotel as part of your comp package. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, omlette, fruit, juices, cereal pastries. All were there in limited supply and selection. OK, but not the best. But, no other options nearby.

They have a nice selection of craft beers to choose from. The burgers are awesome and the ND wings are delicious.
