First time lunch visit. We had the Cobb salad and a Reuben sandwich. The Reuben was excellent. The atmosphere is pleasant and the service is very good. We recommend Blackbird Cafe and would definitely have lunch there again.

My husband and I were in town visiting his alma mater, and as we were strolling and window shopping on a hot and muggy day, we stopped in here for an iced coffee or chai. We opted for an iced miel over coconut milk (sadly they were out of almond milk) and it hit the spot! Nothing extravagant or extraordinary, but it was solid and the baristas were friendly and were patient with us as they were explaining their chai and coffee options. We continued to shop, after we ordered, so we didn't stick around, but I can see this being an excellent place to study with a cup of java and light snack or sandwich.

2 medium for under $5. They brew several different styles of coffee, Which gives everyone a choice. My favorite is the Highlander grogg

The atmosphere is great, the service is always friendly, and the coffee selection can't be beat. The only complaint I may have is about the portion sizes. While this is a cafe, it is one of the few areas in town that offers vegan breakfast/brunchy type items. However, my fiancé and I always leave spending $20 on two sandwiches (for seitan, avocado, lettuce, and two tomatoes) that could only be described as pocket-sized. If you could boost the sizes of these servings for a little more bang for the buck, that would be amazing.

Overall, great place to sit, sip some coffee, and get some work done.

Downtown Valpo. They have several types of coffee brewed daily, to satisfy almost any taste. The breakfast sandwiches are average to less than average(seemed microwaved). The crazy cookie was very good. The have 5 different types of cookies. On the day we visited they had 6 types of coffee, which they had to keep brewing(so they were fresh, because of the volume).
Not great for big groups.
We will be back!

Price reference $14 for our order:
Bacon and egg on English muffin
Sausage, cheese, and egg on English muffin
Crazy cookie
Medium coffee
Large coffee
