When I'm in Haiti I like to make sure that my teams see that Haiti has a beautiful and welcoming side as well. I took my team of 15 in January to the Decameron and was not disappointed. The water was perfect, the beach was clean, the drinks were superb and the food was delicious. I only wish that Haiti could develop and sustain more places like this.

I was on vacation with family killing mosquitos. We all had to wrap up underneath blankets at night to prevent from being feasted on. We complained and complained and they did nothing not to mind you a huge Fight broke out in the very next room that escalated to a whole family frenzy with one guy being hauled off to jail 4am. it was a absolutely terrible experience for such a beautiful place. During check out we heard a Entire family complaining about The staff threatening them with a Gun this is completely unacceptable for people that are on Vacations giving you hard earned money just to sweep things under the rug. lesson learned read reviews before you book with these people what looks good isint good we will try a Decameron in another country before we go back here...

Checking in took so long, one girl with 14 of us on the line, she tried but...Wi fi is a joke, only next to the reception desk. They had no kid bracelet, when they should have expected me as my booking was paid for months ahead. Cold shower, no hot water and the shower door, is this a trend in Haiti, 1/3 of a door, when you shower, the whole bathroom is a mess. Ask for extra towel, 4 people in a room with 3 towels, it's like asking for their paycheck. The food was ok but what's up with the juice? It's like they washed a cup after someone had the juice and give you the colored water as juice. Restaurants close all 3 days that we were there. with the insecurity in Haiti, they need to do something about the vendors on the beach, they are too aggressive.

This place is infested with mosquitos. They came and sprayed our room but they keep coming inside.

On our last night here, the mosquitos bit us alive at the dinner table. The mosquitos ate better than we did. The infermerie didn’t even have hydrocortisone.

For the prices they charge, the rooms are very small and outdated. The shower doesn’t have a door so water gets everywhere. My mother got food poisoning and mosquito bites. The combination is too much.

When they say “all inclusive” we were expecting “all inclusive”. They charge extra for everything besides food and drinks. $65USD for 30 minutes of jet ski is too much money. All of the tours they display on the brochure don’t exist. We were told by “junior” that they don’t have them right now.
The rolls of toilet paper they provide are so small they finish before you know it.

If you loose the towel card, they will charge $20 for it. If you go over on the time for the jet ski, they will charge you extra.

There were randoms trying to sell us stuff on the beach. Can we catch a break from
people trying to sell us stuff we don’t need?

We are very unhappy with the mosquitos and the extra fees and the food poisoning.

I went to Haiti in June 2018 with my two roommates and the structural aspect of the hotel is decent. After a long trip, we were disappointed in the uncleanliness of the shower in the bathrooms. There was scum buildup from the previous guests. Bring shower flip flops! (we bought the old navy ones).

The lighting in the bathroom isn't bright either. At first you're a bit taken back by it but as the days went by, you just dealt with it.

The beds were okay. They were clean and always well made. The room itself was always clean.

They had live entertainment everyday. It was fun to watch.

The food. BEST FOOD I EVER HAD. The buffet is hands down the bomb.com. I stuffed my face so much. One word of advice is GET THERE EARLY. For example, if the buffet starts at 12. Chill in the lobby 5-10 min prior. The first thing that goes is the pikliz! so good!

The staff are really nice. In particular we had a waiter by the name of Peterson. He was the nicest and most accommodating fellow. Great personality. The type of service even restaurants where I live fail to provide. He is a real gem! We would purposely wait for him to let us know what section he would serve in to enjoy our meals. We generously tipped him everyday (that was our choice to do so) but in my opinion he deserved it.

The overall experience was amazing. Some minor hiccups but they were so overshadowed by the fun we had that we would definitely go again.

Room tip: Go for Oceanview
