Merrynook was the favourite of all the places we stayed on our two-week road trip in the Sierras. Lots of space for two couples travelling together. We enjoyed the homey atmosphere, with lots of books to peruse and beautiful artwork on the walls. Kitchen was large and gave us plenty of space to prepare meals. Love the coffee cup collection! Beds were comfortable and the patio outside was beautiful--we wished it was warmer so we could sit outside more and enjoy it. Excellent spot for exploring Sequoia and King's Canyon as the location is only about 15 minutes from the park entrance. Thanks for providing such a beautiful place for travellers to stay!

“Amazing!!!”
Reviewed September 4, 2019 for a stay in May 2019

We absolutely loved our stay at Merrynook! Would return in a heart beat. Perfect location, good facilities. We stayed in 12 different hotels during our holiday and we both said that this was the only place that really made us feel at home. Absolutely loved the outdoor seating area! Planning to make one at home exactly like it! Sadly I don't think we will be returning to the area as we travelled around the majority of California but if we ever do, we will defiantly stay again and recommend to others!! Thank you!!!

“Family Favorite”
Reviewed July 31, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

Merrynook Cabin was our family's hands down favorite place to stay on our recent road trip. The hosts are welcoming and accommodating. The cabin boasts a well stocked kitchen and bath, comfortable and plentiful beds, and art, books, and trinkets. Add a beautiful outdoor setting and we had a memorable stay!

We really enjoyed meeting you and your kids! In fact, they inspired us to make a little "parkour" course out of the logs on the ground behind the cabin. Now the next bunch of kids can enjoy climbing, balancing, and jumping off them.

“Great home base for Kings Canyon!”
Reviewed July 5, 2017 for a stay in June 2017

We really enjoyed this cute cabin as a place to crash after long days at Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. It was great to have a big tub to soak in plus a shower, a well-equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, etc. We loved all the thoughtful details throughout and the arty feel of the place. Loved the back deck and front porch. Every inch was usable, fun, beautiful space. There's plenty of room for a family to spread out but couples can feel cozy. Only wish we had thought to grocery shop in Fresno as there wasn't a general store when we arrived in town. Apparently ownership of the restaurant/ store had just switched and the store hadn't reopened.

Yes, it's best to shop in Fresno or Visalia before heading up into the mountains. There is a convenience store 30 minutes from the cabin, and small markets inside the Park that cater to campers. We provide basic pantry supplies - ketchup, mayo, mustard, cooking oils, salt, pepper, etc. Ask us and we'll send a complete list!
