I stayed at this hotel for three days in the fourth floor.
You can tell this hotel is old and truly showing its age from cheap repainted bathroom doors and no bathroom fan.
I talked to the front desk two days in a row about broken ice machine when I checked out still broken.
When your paying a high rate you except better especially from a Marriott brand !!
The only bright star of this aged property is the staff !!
The bar tender Friday night I think her name was tou very friendly !!
Front desk staff great but this property is aged and you only paint cover so many times !!

Room tip: You can do better for the price they charge !!

As others have written, this property is your standard Marriott configuration probably from the 90's. Check in was quick and efficient. Was slightly surprised with the small ($8) parking fee only b/c we are in the burbs, not downtown. Lobby looked fresh and there is a full service Starbuck's on-site.

Room was typical; average size, good bed and bedding and a cramped bathroom. There are probably room renovations planned somewhere in the future. All in all, you cant go wrong here and sometimes they have really attractive rates.

Pros:
Convenient location for our needs - visiting family in Overland Park.
Large lounge area to continue our conversations.
Decent breakfast buffet, including bread pudding!
Room was clean and WiFi worked

Cons:
Parking: gate controlled by room key. Did not work half the time and at checkout was not told to keep one key to exit - so had to go back in to get a new key. Really annoying system.
Lounge/bar was overcrowded and understaffed due to a large group in for the weekend.
Starbucks on site closed surprisingly early

Room tip: Higher rooms are quieter

Once again, on a return visit, found this to be a great hotel nestled in Overland Park. Knowing full well we had business in the Plaza we thought we were still close enough at 20 minutes out. We sought out a great mall for shopping at 15 minutes away. Tons of local places to eat too.
This hotel has a Concierge Lounge for Marriott Gold Members. The Epicure Restaurant was wonderful. My breakfast buffet plate was loaded! They had the best bread pudding I have ever had (and hand whipped-cream!). Staff is excellent and welcoming! Love those Marriott beds too!

Nice hotel, good location, not hard to find or drive into or out of. They do charge for parking, not sure why, Good restaurant and bar, average breakfast, nice pool and workout area, friendly staff, terrible Wi-Fi, overall hotel is in excellent condition, fast elevators, but you will have to use your own internet access.

Room tip: Odd numbers face front of building for better view, higher floors are quieter.
