“Great value steps from Wesley medical center.”
Reviewed 27 July 2011

My husband and I were in wichita for just over one week while my father was hospitalized at Wesley medical center. We stayed at three different hotels looking for the right combination of price (we were on a tight budget), cleanliness and comfort, and location near the hospital and my family. This was the only one right on Target. The hotel is very clean and well kept. The rooms are comfortable, with a microwave and refrigerator. They seem to make an effort to make the stay as easy and comfortable for their guests (most of which are presumably family and friends of hospital patients). Walgreens and several quick restaurants are also next door adding to its convenience.

One of the best values in central wichita if you are looking for simple, clean accomodations.

The hotel is suppose to be a non smoking establisment. The first room we were assigned had a distinct smell of cigarettes. We checked back with the front desk and was assigned a different room. The bed was comfortable, the room clean. Our last day I noticed a cockroach crawling up the wall. We told the front desk clerk and was told the spray all the time. She will contact the manager. The staff was very unfriendly, no eye contact, no smile.. A smile will go a long way. We won't be back

I was in town for the Wichita Jazz Festival, which on this year landed on Easter weekend. The festival director recommended the Wesley, as it was where the guest artists for the festival also stayed. The room was very spacious and filled with amenities that would cost twice as much in a larger city: flat screen TV, DVD player, refrigerator, microwave, hotel-wide Wi-Fi, continental breakfast. The king size bed was very comfortable and the room was very quiet at night. At $70 a night, the Wesley is a real bargain.

My wife & I have stayed here for multiple nights over the past 2-3 weeks and it's a great hotel. The front desk staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are of normal hotel size and include a refrigerator and microwave as well as a nice lounge chair. The breakfast is from 5-9 and it seems you have to get there a little earlier, but we went down there a few times after 8 and were still able to get enough to eat. The hotel is very comparable to your standard holiday inn, but at a better value especially if you book through hotels.com or another travel site. There are at least 5-6 restaurants next door and able to walk to along with a walgreens too.
Once or twice we have heard the helicopter come into the hospital across the street, but it only lasts a few seconds and never once heard it while sleeping. On our second stay we heard a little bit of walking above us, but nothing to complain about. On the third stay the room we had the water in the shower came out very strong and almost hurt, but still nothing to complain about. Just keeping in mind that your at a hotel and not in the comfort of your own home, your stay should be just fine. Would certainly stay here again!!

Place is clean, located near many of the museums and downtown area, there are several food options nearby. I stayed with my six year old son. It is a little old fashioned in that they still have the standard type vanity with the slot for the tissues and the tp holder and they have the usual luggage rack, small desk, etc. Coffeemaker, microwave and iron/ironing board are included. It does not suffer from these things and everything is in good repair. We took advantage of the library of videos they have downstairs for rent, they have many children's selections. The breakfast is good, but very basic for those who are used to the 'all out' boiled egg and waffle iron type places. This one has an assortment of doughnuts, some bagels, English muffins, biscuits and gravy as well as three cereals (bran flakes, cheerios and frosted mini wheats), something everyone can enjoy, but no yogurts, fresh fruit or bacon, etc., like some places are doing. Staff were very friendly and helpful. All in all, I would recommend the place, it is quiet, the beds are comfortable and I found everything to be clean and tidy. The entire place is non-smoking which is good.
